EVERY time the thought, idea or mention of "I have witches in my fam",people on here get irritrated and pissed off. I really dont get it,ok,WE are all tolerant of each other's paths, right? You are Wiccan,I asm a witch,You are a Budhist,I am a Christian,You are a Satanist,I am a monk..so why get so bent out of shape and just not accept when someone mentions they have witches in their family? My mom believed in the Fey,my gran was an Irish seer.Good for them,!! It makes me no more or less, just is. take it or leave it. Who else has witches in their fam?

My sister and I both are practicing and it's just not known to my mom who used to be a witch but converted to JW. So even though I shouldn't worry about what she thinks, I don't want to hurt her, so I keep quiet about my new path to her. Yet from what my sister and brothers told me she was very strong and very into being a witch when they were kids, including astral travel. Its sad too cause I would love to discuss it with her but I know that will not happen. :(

My grandma too was involved (don't know what the title would be, my sister might since she's older then me) but I have not had that discussion with her. I know she had her guides, etc, but that's about all I know. We are scottish/irish from her side so I feel that is why this path has always interested me and once I broke away from the fear of it all (being raised JW can mess with your mind)...I realized this was the path for me and that I should embrace what has always interested me and felt like home.

I also feel that no one should question someone about their "right" if they had witches in their family? And honestly who cares even if they aren't right, more power to them. As to someone saying they are better than someone - well I guess they are being judgmental and maybe should rethink their whole way of viewing others. Those who usually think more of themselves usually end up looking the dumbest! (I could give you a great example on this as my ex's sister became all christian all the sudden and acts like she is better than everyone else, etc, etc, and yet her whole family looks at her like she's an idiot because she puts others down but then ends up doing the same things she says are wrong! go figure!)

Good post btw...

YOUR Mom ,hopefully, will regain her ROOTS. When i was young I was a JW too for awhile, though,I NEVER left my witch roots, kinda put them on hold for a time but the Goddess and my Scottish/Irish heritage kept coming back. And AYE,so very true the JW rearing DOES mess with one's minds!! My kids are both JW survivors too!!! They have returned to their Celtic roots too!!! Anytime you need to JW rave,I am happy to talk./well.all next week I'll be at grandfather Mountain Highland Games being, witchy,Pagan and scottish all combined!! HAPPY 4th!!

As opposed to "witches", I have mystics in my family line. We go back a long way :)

I didnt know the members of my family personally all that well who called themselves Pantheistic Zealots as My Fathers Family was Catholic and my mothers family just not there to be honesty. Though the history I have piece together seems to lead to alot of Channelers, Mediums, Healers and all around faithfulls in the Gods, Goddesses, Mystical Beings and Guardians of the Watch Towers. Though they would hide under the Banner of Catholics while practiceing in private at home as they believe do to outside effects on he family. Perhaps that is why I am looked down on being over the time and speaking and practiceing my faith for all that wish to see to see and those who don't just having to turn away on there own. lol

"May All Pantheistic Gods, Goddesses, Mystical Beings and Guardians of the Watch Towers as both Individuals First and Unionifed Force of Creation working togeth Bless you and yours Immediately and Infinitely Now and Forever in Honor, Honesty, Respect, Loyalty, Faithfulness, Sincerity, Love, Light (day) and Shadow (Night) in Fellowship and Friendship. So Mote this be! and blessed it be!"

Raised by them, all of mine. Didn't realize I was any different until I went to school. I still am pagan not wiccian, however tolerance of all is key to life. Blessed Be Lady R

Well, my grandma on my father's side used to be a witch, and as far as I know her mom was also one. But they were more like the witches of the medieval books: cursing people and such. My grandma also had a ghost who used to "work" for her, she thought that it was her father's ghost who died during WWII. It' said that she used to meet him in the garden at dawn... (to think that I lived there till I was 9 *shivers*)

And answering your question about why people get irritated at you: I think it's probably because many people like to lie that to be seen as somebody very special and knowledgeable. Or because they are simply jealous of you, I mean we all (or at least a lot of people) would like to have Irish (celtic) ancestry and witches as parents or grandparents.

I don't think I have any witches in my family, even though I always wonder if my grandmother was one because she used herbs alot in her cooking and for medicinal purposes and worked in a health food store. She died in '82 and I always wonder what our family dynamics would be like if she were still alive. But I know she's my guardian angel, so she isn't too far away!:)

In regards to why people get irritated with you about mentioning your family tree, I agree with kisboszi's statement and I also think that you've mentioned it quite a few times that maybe those who have become irritated or annoyed or angry towards you are tired of you saying it. I mean no disrespect at all, just my thoughts on your statement.
