Important Announcement Please Read 3-16-09

Apologies in advance this is an important announcement and a bit of a rant wrapped together.

The network has taken it upon themselves to create profiles for every person who is a member of any Ning Network. Those of us with sites have tried to stop this action for a myriad of obvious reasons but the network has chosen to do their own thing and ignore the creators wishes. Personally, I'm highly annoyed with this, as the network is not the one who did all the work in creating these sites, nor building the membership (members and creators alike did this work) but now in my opinion, they are acting as if they did. I cannot move Paganspace.net because it is too large and it's just not an option (which I'm sure the network knew when they implemented this that those of us with large sites and even those with smaller sites would likely not be able to move our sites because it would be a catastrophe).

Please do not be alarmed by this message but I wanted to let you know that if you do not want your profile showing on their public profiles you need to go to the link below (it should hold your log in but if not just log in with your username & password from PS) and choose who you wish to be able to view your profile.

The profile data that shows up is any networks you are a member of, recent activity, your friends and so on. Believe me, I'm very public and really do not care who sees my stuff but because this is a principal issue, among other things I set mine to only be viewable by me (I'll probably change it to friend's only). The hell if I'm going to let people dig through all my friends etc. or sniff through all my info so they can try to piggy back off the work others and I have done. *sorry a little rantish this morning* lol

Personally, I didn't sign up to create a social network while paying them every month like a champ to have them turn their social network "hosting" platform (which is what it was) into some lame attempt at turning their site into a Myspace like site and to top it off while using all of us members and site owners to instantly fill it up. Yea, I always work with them and appreciate what they do but I'm not on board with this at all.

Can you tell I'm a bit worked up right now? lol

Anyway, if you want your info public on their site then you do not need to do anything, but if you do not want your profile public then please click the link above and choose your setting. You can also change any thing that's viewable over there, I'm probably going to change my profile pic to Mickey Mouse...lol JK

Many thanks and please accept my deepest apologies for this, had I known they were going to pull something like this I would have seriously rethought using this network to host Paganspace but now that I'm in a corner all I can do is make the best of it and let everyone know what to do to change their settings/profile over there if they so choose.
