Hi I am CraigWicce and I am a human being that suffers from dysthymic disorder (mild to moderate depression lasting two or more years) and polysubstance abuse (Alcohol and Xanex).
I started a path to recovery twenty months ago and have worked all twelve steps of the Alcoholics Anonymous program and now am embarking upon studying the first twelve cards of the Major Arcana of the Tarot as the twelve steps.
Why did I identify as a "human being" and not an alcoholic? Because I am not defined my disease. I will say that "I am an alcoholic" while at an AA meeting for the sake of someone new but if I was at a cancer survivor group, would I say: "Hi! I am CraigWicce and I am a tumor?" Certainly not.
