Hi, I just signed up for this group. My name is Peter Paddon, and I'm the host of
The Crooked Path podcast, and owner of
Pendraig Publishing. I practice a non-Wiccan form of Traditional Witchcraft and I'm magister of a small coven of like-minded weirdos.
My podcast has been going for a couple of years now, 107 episodes plus a handful of video podcasts as well. As there have been a bunch of questions in this group about the nuts and bolts of podcasting, here is my set-up...
I record the podcasts using a M-Audio condenser mic through a Behringer 8-channel mixer, and use a combination of Audacity and Propaganda (a program specifically for putting podcasts together). I use SonicFire Pro 5 to create music for segment tags and background ambience, and I create my RSS feed file by hand. The podcast is hosted on my own website, which resides on a dedicated server in order to deal with the bandwidth requirements. The website has almost 1000 registered members, and the podcast has at least twice that number of listeners, and can be found on iTunes, Podcast Pickle and Podcastalley, and on just about every other podcast directory.
The show is basically a talk show - I host two related segments, one on Lore, the other on Praxis, while my co-host Raven Womack has a segment on wortcunning (herblore). We occasionally include music, and I recently hosted a concert for Wendy Rule in Burbank, California.
General info, I'm a Brit of Welsh extraction living in the Los Angeles area, and in addition to the podcast I'm an author (and the publisher of other authors), and the creator of the Craftwise series of spellcrafting DVDs
