Greetings everyone!  My name is Chrysalis and I'm a member of the Tribe of Gaea.  (We just added our group to Paganspace.) Arcas and I are very interested in pre-agricultural life and culture, and we are planning an intentional community that would replicate this life in many ways.  I look forward to reading and discussing with others in this group!

Do you have papers/articles you could post up, Susan?

Academia is slow and grinding but produces results.  Have been working with a closeted pagan academic on lightening magic research.  He will be teaching a class on Greek and Roman magic at U of Missouri next year if anyone here would be interested in some of his readings and course materials.

So glad to find your group. I look forward to discussing the use of psychedelic's in ancient cultures. Particularly those that infused the Fly Agaric and Datura plant. Anyone wishing to discuss personal experience with these or others are most welcome to initiate a discussion. Blessed Be to all!!

Hi Chris. I don't know much Norse stuff, but I am always willing to learn! I am sure many here would too. (:

Hi. I wanted to introduce myself here.

I've been a Norse pagan for fifteen years, and worked with Runes all that time. I got started on Thorsson's works, joined his organization (The Rune Gild), and achieved mastery with my own work, "The Serpent and the Eagle: An Introduction to the Elder Runic Tradition."

My book was an attempt to help a beginner approach the Runes from a fresh perspective, saying nothing that I couldn't back up from etymological, mythological, or philological studies. I am not sure that I succeeded perfectly, but I've received a lot of positive feedback. I've learned a lot since it was published (18 months ago) and will be doing a second edition at some point.

In my own studies, I generally like to put a lot of emphasis on careful comparative studies. One of my favorite books from the academic world is "How to Kill a Dragon" by Calvert Watkins.

Also it seems that I'm the 66th member. So only 600 to go, right? >;-)

Hello..I just joined this group and am a bit unclear as to exactly what the 'rules' mean. At any rate, I am posting the reference to a short article that I found rather interesting...would hope to find more information on this excavation in the future.

Greetings...just to say I am leaving this group, because it could take many many moons for any activity to occur here, good luck Adrianna :)
