Hi R. Ghatten and Arxsys!
I'm up in Fairbanks too. :)
Comment by R. Ghatten on September 1, 2012 at 10:25pm Hi, just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I've lived in Fairbanks my entire life, I am new to the site, and I am on here to meet people of similar beliefs.
Comment by Arxsys on September 1, 2012 at 10:19pm Hey guys, just wanting to introduce myself. I've lived in the Fairbanks area for years, and if you hunt or fish you probably know me already :D
Has anyone had anything strange happening lately?
Ie- lots of people they know passing away?
Comment by Naoko on February 5, 2012 at 6:50pm I'm excited to be moving back home, to alaska.
My plan is to get a little house outside of town, plant a garden and be a hermit in the woods. I want at least a 45 minute drive between myself and any fred meyers.
Hey everyone!
I'm down in Anchorage for a week (medical stuff). On the way down I saw Wytchwood and was wondering if anyone has ever stopped in. I usually pass by after their business hours, but they were open today. Unfortunately I wanted to get into town, so I didn't stop this time around either. I'm really curious about what sort of stuff they have!
They are on the left hand side of the road as you're driving down to Anchorage, just on the Fairbanks side of Willow.
I'm really curious. Maybe I'll take off early enough when I head home to check them out.
Hi Kate! Welcome to Fairbanks area!
It would be really cool if FNSB area could finagle some sort of meet n greet type thing. I've been here for a bit over 4 years, and I still haven't really met anyone.
As for stores, there isn't too much I've found locally. I like getting things like animal claws from AK Raw Fur. Otherwise I've found some neat rocks around while hiking this summer, or I end up in Anchorage shopping. I did find some cool herbs and stuff at the Farmer's Market on College Road (Wednesdays and Saturdays summer only).
In Anchorage I recommend Black Elk for rocks, Title Wave books has a fairly decent pagan book section, during the summer and they have a cool farmer's market downtown on the weekends.
What sort of info about the area are you looking for? I love it up here. In town it seems like you can't throw a stone without hitting a church of some sort, but people seem more accepting than anywhere else I have been.
