Hello WanderingSpirit. Yes, I completely believe in Familiars coming into our lives who come from species that frighten us. When this happens they are teaching us not to fear, but to understand them. I previously felt uncomfortable around snakes, spiders and rats. My first Familiar was my python Greta, and she taught me not to fear snakes. I have also had a tarantula Familiar, Charlotte, and several rat Familiars. They were all wonderful friends.

hi everyone! im new to this group, but i had a question that might seem kinda silly... i was wondering if anyone had ever attracted familiers that they had a phobia of. i have a nearly paralyzing fear of spiders.. but for some reason they seem to be attracted to me. even when i do everything i can to keep them away. i even dream of them.. hadnt had a dream of spiders in a couple yrs, but this morning i did. just one big black one strolling across the table i was sitting at.. usually its a bunch at once. not sure what to make of this. i figured id ask around a few groups.

Hi Amanda-Actually there are animal empaths.....I suggest you seek out other's like you, Google websites for people who are animal empaths....Can you pick up their feelings? Hope you find other's that you can share with. While I love animals and resonate a great deal with cats, I'm only empathic to my familiar who has passed on a few years ago.....You could be of great help to animals...Blessings, Ianna:)

I have two cats and a bunny. My oldest cat, Gizmo just turned 9 years old this past June and he is my true familure. I've had him since he was born and we have shared such a connection, he holds many of my secrets and has shared some of the worst times of my life with me. He recently was diagnosed with depression so we got him a friend and his name is pumpkin, he just turned 2 years in march. And then a few months ago my husband decided to add CC the bunny into the mix and it has been fun for all of us.

I think I'm sensitive to animal feelings, I connect with them more than I do human beings and I can sense when things are wrong with them and know when they are unhappy. I am very sympathetic of all animals and can't help but feel for every one i come in contact with. I would like some advise on animal impaths, if that's even a thing!

Greetings- Just found this grp, I had a true feline familiar who lived with me for 17 yrs. He was in poor health a few years ago and had no choice but to put him down (inoperable cancer that had metastasized). He worked with me in my circle, he walked with me where ever I went without a leash or constraint and never took off, he often accompanied me when I did astral work. Twice he was lost and I did not expect to ever find him (once when I moved and he got out of the building, he did not know the area at all and two weeks later he called out to me blocks away in an alley, I immediately knew that was his voice). I really miss a feline familiar and have yet to have one chose me or vice versa.

My totems are fox and bear. For years I actually have had a large mama bear and two cubs who warn me or validate what's going on in my life among other things. I'm blessed to have all of my totems and familiars in my life. Ianna:)

Elizabeth, it sounds like you are an animal empath. You go by your gut and instincts when it comes to relating to animals and you can't always explain with words exactly what you are feeling. There are books that you can read on the subject, but more importantly, learn to trust your own insight and intuition. You have a special gift.

I have a question ... I have two cats and a two dogs currently one of the dogs is a temporary arrangement(not that i love him any less he isn't ours he belongs to a family friend who is also temporarily living with us) but any way i love my animals tremendously as i am sure most of you do but since i was a child i always had an extra special connection with all animals so much so that i often feel guilty when my friends complain that thier animal wants to come home with me or anything of that sort. some times i have a physic link with animal in fact that is how i ended up with my last cat... but most of the time its just intense feelings and understanding and love. so my question is Is there a name for this? Does anyone one else have these types of experiences? and How can i learn more about my ability to commun and relate with animals?

Haven't posted on here in awhile. We have gained a couple of new animal companions - my rabbit Charlie and Lady our cocker spaniel. Would love to hear about the rest of you and your animal friends.
