Egyptian Goddess, patron of law, truth and balance of universal order. She is depicted as a woman wearing a crown with a large ostrich feather. Her totem symbol is a stone platform, representing the stable base on which "order" is built.
Ma'at is the personification of the fundamental order of the universe, without it creation would perish. The main duty of the Pharaoh was to uphold this order and maintain law and justice. Many Pharaoh's took the title of "Beloved of Ma'at" which emphasized their rulership of justice and truth. Any event that needed judgement of any sort Ma'at was invoked, as she would do a ruling that was correct and impartial.
In the underworld her feather was used as a scale to weigh the hearts of those wanting entry to the ever world. Those that outweighed the feather proved themselves that they had bad wicked souls and were then fed to the Ammit, but the hearts that balanced with the feather were welcomed to the blessed ever land.
Ma'at was welcomed in all the realms and many other diety deferred to her.

To Calm Warring Siblings
by Karla Trobe
Had the nine Muses fought the way most sisters do, humanity's arts would be much the poorer. To help establish sibling harmony among your children, bind objects symbolic of each child with a six-foot-long brown ribbon. As you do so, repeat: "Binah brought you unto me. Mother goddess, hear this plea. Let my children happy be; bound in soulful harmony." If the Moon is waxing, you should contemplate a growth of love among the siblings; if waning, meditate on diminishing hostility. Pull the ribbon tight, and knot. Every time they fight, think of their goddess-blessed unity. It will not take long for the spell to take practical effect.
