Witchcraft for the magickal Christian. The discussion should focus on spellcrafting with the psalms, the saints, the angels, the planetary sigils - as well as exchanging information about herbs, oils, candles, and powders, and their correspondences. This list is not about the Wiccan religion. Not all Christian Witches follow the 3-fold law, but instead practice "an eye for an eye." There is alot of vengence in the Old Testament, abut there is also lot of love in the Bible. I want this list to cover the bases. If you are easily offended or new to magickal Christianity, and are still struggling with "thou shalt not suffer the witch to live," then don't join this list. Everyone's background is different. Christians Witches evolve over a lifetime of study, years of hands-on work, research, trial and error, and family tradition. On this list, our goal is to make juxtapositions between Witchcraft (first and foremost) and your form of Christianity.

Merry Meet.

I am a fairly new Wiccan of about a year, but I still follow some bits of Christianity.

tineke been and pat weiser.  Maybe I can answer both your questions. The central tenant of Christianity is, was and will always be the divinity of Christ. That is why it is called Christianity.  You need not believe in heaven, hell, or an Old Man in the Sky.  Not even to be Catholic.  There is one and only one book in the Bible that talks a lot about hell, and that is the Book of Revelations.  A note on the word "hell" though.  The original Greek word meant "the city trash dump" which would have been a foul-smelling place where rats lived and which was constantly on fire (from the volatile chemicals released by the decomposing trash) and which bred disease. This concept included no notions of suffering or torture however, just of uncleanliness, and loneliness.  This was later combined with the earlier and unrelated Greek concept of Tartarus, a pit of torture and punishments for the crimes one committed in life.  since the central tenant of the religion is that Jesus Christ was divine in some form, it makes actually a lot of sense to combine witchcraft and Christianity.  it is the institutions around Christianity, not the religion itself which have made this a seeming impossibility.  These institutions emerged for political reasons rather than theological ones.

I was a 'good' Catholic for many years.  Then I just really couldn't believe the dogma anymore.  I tried Wicca, but that doesn't seem quite right either.  When we were in Ireland we met 'Travelers' who seemed quite comfortable merging Catholicism with Paganism.  Is is possible to do this?  Their English was limited so they couldn't really explain much to me.  We met them at a stone circle. They were doing a pilgrimage and had just come from Croagh Patrick.

hello and bright blessings.i jouned but i dont see myself as a  christian.but i wonder if anybody out here could inform me about how they got rid of the fear of hel?it seems to be a part of the bible.every bible believer has to believe hel as well.this is one of the reasons i have a hard time with the pentacostals.if u dont do as they say well,,,,,,,to hel with u then.i dont think any god can be that cruel.immagine a person having suffered all his life.and then he dies.and then even a worse hel breaks lose.if i talk about this to pentacostals or fanatic bible believers they say well there miight be something to it that we just dont understand.o i do understand right?no jesus no glory no matter where u live or how much u have suffered.or no matter the fact that u died as an infant and never had the chance to make a choice.i just find it so hard to believe in such a god.and to leave such a god is worse cause they all condem u to hel.how have u guys done this?bb

Faerywitch- I just want to let you know how much I appreciate your attitude. Blessings to you. There is far, far too much dissention among the witch community and disagreement about who is the 'right kind' of witch. I applaud your gracious support.I believe we all have something to bring to the table and we cannot afford dissentsion (lol sp???) among us.

(Technically I come under the heading of christian witch but I don't really make any claim to being a christian in the standard or accepted definitions of such. I am so merely because I believe in the life and teachings of Jesus, and I suppose because I believe in One Godhead consisting of both Mother and Father Deities.)

All should be equal and respected. Thanks :)

Does anyone know of any good books that i could read on this or a group in my area because i would much rather sit down and talk to someone in person than to just read about it, I want to learn as much as possible but i dont know where to start?
