I am the wind that blows across the sea;
I am a wave of the deep;
I am the roar of the ocean;
I am the stag of seven battles;
I am a hawk on the cliff;
I am a ray of sunlight;
I am the greenest of plants;
I am a wild boar;
I am a salmon in the river;
I am a lake on the plain;
I am the word of knowledge;
I am the point of a spear;
I am the lure beyond the ends of the earth;
I can shift my shape like a god.

If you access both tradition streams from the POV of a shaman, you may find that you're not really being pulled in two directions, but simply two flavors of the same thing. Remember, Europe was tribal once, too :-)

Greetings to all I hope you don't mind my stopping in to learn what you have to share. Hopefully someday I may be able to share what I have learned.
I come from a complicated background ethnically and feel pulled in two directions; that being Native American Shamanic beliefs from my grandmother who was a healer. and the northern european beliefs I can only attribute to the other side of the family.
I have read much about people being drawn into the shamanic ways and hope to learn more about it.
Respect to you all!
Deosa

Hi Sonia, if you're fairly new to shamanic working, I would recommend R.J. Stewart's books. They will walk you step-by-step through journeying (safely) and give you a good foundation to build on.

An a wonderous fantastic trip it has been down through the years. Check out my Profile to learn more about me. An to learn more about my connection with Faol, which is Irish Gaelic for "Wolf".http://enchantedforrest.ning.com/group/wolves/forum/topics/why-wolves-come-share-your
I look forward sharing and learning with some like minded kindred Souls.
