Good to see you here Electric Blue. This is one of my favorite groups and it has slowed down a lot. Heather has the same group on FB and its busy at times. I'm there too. Come over and join!

Good to have a list of gem shows. None near me that are of much interest. There's one about an hour or so away but it's predominantly jewelry. Nothing wrong with jewelry of course but I would love to go where stones of all types are available...rough, tumbled, polished, faceted gems...all of it.

Angela any o that where you are? I might have to make that trip over the mountain! Haha!

Yes, thanks Ariel. It's a great list. I've found some great people at shows in the past who would try get harder to find things for you.

this is for dates for crystal shows all over the US. Most are 2015 dates. Some are 2016-17.

I am still here Amethyst. Be thankful, I have joined some groups only to find out the last post was 3 or 4 years ago.

I've seem ruby in zoisite many times and never understood what that was or what it meant. So I'm assuming zoisite is another stone that forms the matrix? Thanks ReNauMoon. So helpful!

How is everyone? This group has been quiet for so long. One of my favorite groups too. *heavy sigh*

The matrix itself is going to have properties as well. So, researching what the matrix is comprised of can further enhance the energies of the crystal/stone. A good example (in my opinion) can be Ruby in Zoisite. In this case the Zoisite could be considered the matrix of the Ruby.

Thank you ReNauMoon you say it so much nicer than I do!
Mi forgot to answer the there a difference between a stone & a stone in matrix. I don't think so. Just in size perhaps. I can't imagine why there would be a difference other than just the physical size etc. any thoughts on that?

The crystal can be on or in the matrix and yes, the matrix is what the crystal is attached to before it is mined. Some crystals still have matrix attached while others merely show a contact point where they had been attached. A crystal that shows no defined contact points is called a floater.
