The Drum Circle at Nippur this past weekend at Abundance Festival was superb! What a fabulous weekend in the Smoky Mountains to celebrate community.

Hey all! I'm Spoon. Long time trance dancer and percussionist. I've lately been working on switching my dominant hand with the Italian tammorriata. That's been fun and slow going but challenge is always neat, keeps practice interesting. I work with Med rhythms, dances and chants a lot and I love my local Drum Circle! *Yay for the Mystic Moon Drum Circle!* Nice to cyber meet you guys, thanks for the group Nianna.

We know of pagan family in SC closer to the mountains - their place is called Fairy Glen and they have been there for decades. We have enjoyed fabulous drum circles there amoungst our mountain tribe/kindred/covens.

of course, a really good way to meet pagan family in your area is to go to some of the larger gatherings like PSG and you will likely meet someone from your state. Some of the better drum circles in our clan occurs at Starwood in New York following Sirius Rising at the Brushwood facility in New York (near Erie).

Hello fellow drummers!!! This is my first entery in this group, and it's starting with a question... "Does anybody here know of any drumming event, circle or otherwise in the Charleston, SC area?" For a long time, I was only involved with the bellydance scene, and not for any other purpose. I'm new to PaganSpace, and, well, new to this "Pagan World". Not only am I researching the different paths I could take, I'm also exploring this wonderful world of drumming outside of bellydance.

I've been a Pennsic attendant since XXX, and attended TribOriginal in Black Mountain, NC for the past three years. I've studied under Carmine Guida, Daveed Kourup, "Nevik", and others of Pennsic fame, as well as Issam Houshan of Bellydance Superstars fame. Raquy had spent a weekend at my house once, in travel to FL (and trashed the place... good times!)

I play Dumbek and Frame Drum, zills and searching for a nice Riq. But, I'm beginning to think I live in a bubble.... and here in Charleston, if it's not "Civil War" related, it doesn't exist.

Please help!! My fingers are getting cold!!!

I don't know how many people are from the Phoenix area, but I am sure that if there are any here, they would love to hear about the circles that you know of. Please feel free to post circle info on the Discussions board, this is the easiest way to reach all of the members here. BTW...welcome to the group!
