Brighid of the sunrise
Rising in the morning
Rising with the Springtime
Greening all the land
See you in the soft cloud
See you in the raindrop
See you in the winds of change
Blowing through the land

You the red eared white cow
Nourishing the people
Nourish now the hunger
Souls longing in our land
Bird that is unfolding
Now the time's upon us
Only have we eyes to see
Your Epiphany

Gabhaim molta Bride
Ionmhain i le hEirinn
Ionmhain le gach tir i
Molaimis go leir i

It seems that my presence here is not all that welcome...seeing as the group is described as a group for WOMEN. No one has specifically said anything, in fact it's the complete LACK of response to anything I've posted here that is the real clue.

So blessed be, women.

MM Coffee Shaman~

It's interesting that you tie the philosophy of gratitude to Brighid. It is a staple of my Family Tradition and I've been writing all around the topic quite a bit lately. I've been writing about my prejudice against humility. I think humility is just another form of vanity. It implies stature, although a lowly one, which is self-important and concerned with how other view oneself. My lack of humility sometimes disturbs others. So I will be writing about what keeps me in balance if not humility. And that is gratitude...a philosophy that I embrace completely. (I am one of the few pagan who do not embrace the philosophy of how I chose my existance this incarnation. I did not choose. Fate chose for me.) And so, I am grateful for all the gifts and blessings that Fate and the gods have bestowed upon me and thus I can never be vain about them because I had nothing to do with them. I am grateful for the opportunities I've had to use these gifts and I am proud of my hard work.

I am grateful for the ancestors, my heritage, the gods and Fate for putting me in this place at this time to experience these things in hopes of making them proud of me. I am grateful for my children, family and kindred with which to share this amazing journey. My entire life is one of gratitude.

I've never thought of having that word tatooed on me before...and I have never attached Gratitude as a way of Life to Our Lady Brighid, but my essay on Gratitude is going to be a large definition to characterize the spiritual tradition in my Family Tradition...so as I am a Kell of Brighid...this concept attached to her is even more precious.

Perhaps tatooed in a flame...hummm

Thank you! You have given me a gift today!

Somebody PLEASE start a discussion here! We are here to learn about the goddess Brighid, and nobody wants to contribute? I'd like to learn more about her. Does anybody know of any good websites about the history of Brighid?

I belong to the Society for Creative Anachronism. When I first joined I researched an approriate medieval name I could use for myself. I was drawn to the name Brighid. My great grandmother was a Bridget. Of course being a research junkie, I learned all I could about the name, in doing so I became more drawn to Brighid herself. It really jump started me on my pagan path.

Merry Meet. Brighid has been my matron Goddess for many years now. I performed a ritual with a meditation to find my matron Goddess, and she was shown to me in a humorous way. When something is given to me in meditation in humorous way, I know it's was tailor made just for me. :-)

I've always heard....."Look inside of yourself, and there you shall find Her."

Hi, Everyone! I'm CelticShamangirl and I've recently been drawn back to the Old ways by Brigid. I had dedicated myself to her several of years ago, and kind of stepped off the path. Currently, I'm working on a re-dedication to her.
