One night in December of 2007, as I locked the door and turned off the porch light, I noticed we had received about 1 to 1-1/2 inches of new snow. The sidewalk was smooth and white. Had it been daylight, the new snow would have glistened and sparkled but it was night. A couple of hours later, my wife peeked out to look at the snow. She called me to the door asking me if the footprints had been there when I locked the door. They hadn’t. We sort of discussed which kind of small animal had caused them and came to no decision. Sometime after I went to bed and to sleep, I woke up completely alert. I got up and opened the door and looked out again. These prints, although small and close together were not made by a critter but by one of the Wee Folk. The prints were bi-pedal. From the toe of the left foot to the heel of the left foot when it next touched the ground was 14 inches. From the toe of the left foot to the heel of the right foot was 6 inches. After checking these measurements against my own, I determined that our visitor was between 18 and 24 inches in height. The tracks were a single trail coming toward out door and none going away. Nothing was disturbed and the only indication we had of the visit was the footprints. Cool, huh! No, I didn't get a picture. I didn't have a camera at the time.
