Empathy does not necessarily imply compassion, because this capacity can be present in context of compassionate or cruel behavior."

We emphasize a positive learning environment here with patience and understanding for the members who are trying to understand themselves and "tune in" and welcome advice from the experienced members of the group. No question is ignored. We are like a family here and respect is given to ALL who join. This group is monitored actively to ensure our happiness and comfort within the group.

Comment by Sessa 20 hours ago: I remember trying to figure out the controls, and technically still am. But a lot of that is because of moving from a house (where only a handful of people lived) to moving to an apartment complex: More people, more feelings.

As for a male empath, I fit both of those requirements. I am a natural born empath, and a natural born male >.< But I think the reason some men with empathic powers are embarassed about coming forward is that empathy is not a "socially" acceptable trait in men.

Its a theory.

Rest assured, you are not the only male empath, I know of a few, but thats up to them if they choose to come forward or not.
And from that statement you can also gather that I am not male, but I am an empth, and like you have several other abilities that go with it.

You are on a quest for knowledge and information, and also sefl discovery that much is clear, but you have not hinted in which direction you are searching at this time. We all go through these stages and its all part of growth and developement but it would be helpful to know in which direction you are striving to reach at this time. I wrote and published a short story about just that called "The Journey of an Empath." I am always glad to share it with anyone who wants to read it. There is a good book on tape that helped me so much its title is "Becoming an Empath." Karla McClaren i think is the author. Its a powerful tape that makes you feel not all alone as empaths do feel. It is a gift not a curse even though at times it can feel like a cruse. hang in there. ever need to talk i am here just an instant message away. ghostsdesert on yahoo.

I feel things so strongly that i don't know what to make of them anymore. I got possessed in the past, and it did some crazy things to me. When I feel other things they just become part of me and tear me apart. I need some help.

Worst of all I do not know how to control my gift so it can sometimes wreck havoc on my life. Looking to learn from the more experienced ones here, especially with shielding.

Comment by Lillyana on November 21, 2009 at 6:54am: this one's for rebecka. have you ever tried to remove the headache by pulling it out. getting headaches despite shielding can happen. its pretty much just the emotions bouncing off your shields. since this is pretty much innevitable all you can do is try to help the headache. if you are familiar with energy work try to envision the headache as a ball of energy or even as a ball of string. gently remove it piece by piece so as not to over tax yourself. it may or may not work but its worth a try.
