It sounds incredibly obvious, but I find sacredness in everyday encounters with scent,
and what we can do with our breath.
I love essential oils and good incense, and never tire of the way they can elevate, soothe, or deepen mood . . .
In Svaroopa Yoga we're learning ujjayi pranayama as part of our opening shavasana pose (a very simple and
relaxing pose, laying on the floor), and it's amazing what a small, conscious change in breathing can do for
your body and frame of mind . . .
I don't think it's ridiculous at all. I think that it's very important to stop and smell things like flowers . I love essential oils and blended oils. I am currently working on incense blends so I'm liking that right now. I've only had one flop and that was the frankincense Dragon's blood mix which is not good for me... I think I will check on the correspondences for those to see if they are compatible. I was just playing in my kitchen when I made that one. But I love to experiment with different stuff I get form the health food store when I get a chance to go and I just got a new herbal catalog from Mountain Rose herbs so I'm going to try some new stuff from them. I hope you do good in your yoga. Me myself I am a little afraid to try yoga, but I might ask my mom if she wants to go. We might could do that. have a wonderful magickal day...
Mine are very simple since I'm a newbie at making incense, but I think mugwort, lavender and frankicense smells heavenly, but that's just me. They have an incense making kit from Mountain rose herbs that i could try someday if I have the money and time, it might be a while though. Their Oregon bar soaps mint is my favorite!!!! I don't think I would want to go without, but that is the problem when I deal with them. I want everything! :) Hope you have a good day Arachneh!
