Thought I would put information out about what I went through a year and a half ago. I didn't change eating or drinking habits, but gained 15 pounds in aprox 3 months. I didn't feel physically well. I started not being able to tolerate any cocktails. I would literally throw up after one or two and I felt like I had a hangover afterward. Then, one Monday morning, I woke up thinking I had the stomach flu. I was bloated (I looked pregnant) and I spent day one, then two then three on the toilet. Then, I called the doctor. I saw a specialist, an interologist, who gave me a colonoscopy and did some blood work. What was their answer to my mystery? They said I had Ibs-d, which I found out later is just a huge umbrella for what they can't diagnose, and they said there was no cure but Imodium. So, I'm thinking this is extremely unacceptible. There is no way I am spending the rest of my life on the toilet or on Imodium. So, while stuck in the house, for obvious reasons, for the next few months, I researched añd found several folks had success with the low fiber diet. There is a great book Out there by a Russian physician on the subject. So, In the beginning of trying this diet, I strictly ate meat and a few peeled veggies (potatoes, cucumbers), and I felt tons better. However, I continued researching, because I knew the diet was lacking in nutrition.

Oh, and by the way, I didn't loose any weight until I started the low fiber diet.. I gained a bit more even though everything seemed to be going in one end and out the other in a heartbeat.

Then, on the web I came across a phenomenon that has been extensively studied in Australia called Fructose Intollerace and the low FODMAP diet. Fructose intolerance sounded like what I might have. The researchers claim that 25%< of their population has this condition.

Good news...I've been on the FODMAP diet for sbout 9 months and have, with no effort, list all the weight I had previously gained. I still have a bad day once or twice a month, but typically it's because I've cheated. This is not a sales pitch; the tolerated and intollerated food lists are readily available on several sites for free.

If you are having trouble with onions, garlic, non citrus fruits, etc... If you regularity have extreme bloat or an urgency to gave to go num dos. Please google this diet. I've seen stories of people loosing 50 pounds with no effort. I've seen stories of depression leaving people. And really most folks are just happy to feel better.

I just joined a new club this week, and just today did a trial run at a new personal trainer. love it! Going to work with them more to build endurance to consistently run a 5K =]

I am doing well for my weight loss program, or at least for the one I call a program, only have skipped 3 days of it, to me which is pretty good. Now only if I can find a cheap weight scale.

Finally after what seems like a week of panicking; I found the "misplaced" workout dvd I was looking for. I put it in my dvd player last night while setting it up so I can just turn everything on...

I haven't had much time for my friends (sorry) been busy but I am slowly getting life back in order. I have been working out slowly since I am so out of shape it isn't even funny. last night I did some lower body exercises lunges and side lunges, jumping jacks, squats, Russian Twist. Today it is upper body until I get used to it then I will start bring the workouts together so that I am doing a full body work out. Hope everyone has a Blessed and Fruitful Wednesday )o(
