Please know that folkways are alive and well, many of us still live like people did in 1900, its better with electric hot water>>etc..It is a way of life..Thank you for being here, knowing there are others like me is a dream come true..

I've never seen anything but a white ring. Scientifically speaking, it's caused by excess humidity in the air, which obviously amounts to rain the next day. I suppose at more northern locations, the aurora might make it different colors...?

ya something like that but she had something for the color of the ring that i can't remember and she passed over in '78. hard to findout what it was now...lol

merry meet all! i love the old foxfire books, my mom had a couple but they got lost somewhere in one of their many moves. i would love to have them, but that is they way it goes. She had a lot of the old saying as did her mom. It was always, ears rings and someone was talking about u, there was one about the ring around the moon my grandmom used to say but i can't remember it. well, have a blessed weekend all. BB
