Are the stones for jewelry, crystal healing work, or personal meditation? Once you know their purpose, then determine your desire. Look in a good crystal book to find out what stones match what you want.
Stones are very personal, what one person loves another may think is just so-so. Also, what attracts you one time may not the next, depending on your needs. Run your hands over the stones and feel the energy, which ones call to you.
The last show I went to I picked up a Kunzite crystal (love the energy), an Apophyllite cluster (works well with Reiki), a tumbled Moonstone (love the feel of the stone), and Pietersite (it took my breath away it is so beautiful).
