Updated November 1, 2008. Added some more about my ancestry.
I Think I'll use this page for a general genealogy discussion, including things like different sources for genealogy research information etc. what I'm going to do is start up different groups
for different ancestries, but for now you can use this group for various genealogy dicussions, I'll get the other part of this started soon.
I added some starting points for different Ancestry discussions.
Just started this group and I'm not really sure how to organize everything yet.
Genealogy is a my major hobby. I have at found genealogical information on at least a few hundred of my ancestors and have done research for other people. At one time I had genealogical information on about 250,000 people.
Here is a little about my own ancestry:
In my own Ancestry I've gotten back as far as the 1200's with my ancestor research. Some of my other ancestors were Saami who people sometimes call Lapps. Many of my other ancestors were Scandinavians and Finns. On this page is a picture of one of my cousin from about three generations back, in this picture of her you can see some of the Lappish/Siberian like features, I notice that I can see this in my Father too and other relatives. I'll post more pictures and Info when I have more time and figure out how to organize things on this page.
Here is the picture of my picture of my cousin.

O.K. Now that have time to work on this some, I'm posting a picture below, of what one of my 1600's ancestor probably looked like. I have anthroplogical computer models I made of some of my ancestors which show what my 1600's ancestors may have looked like.
The picture below is a computer anthropological estimate of my 1600's ancestor, I made this picture from calculations based on existing pictures of relatives and ancestors. Many of my ancestors were Swedish. Back in the 1600's Scotland had volunteered
troops to serve in the Swedish millitary, after theese Scottish troops finnished with thier millitary term some of them stayed in Sweden and married into Swedes. The Genealogical records of the 1600's show that the brothers of my ancestors were marrying into theses Scots,
but the records don't say if my ancestor also had married into these Scots. A long time ago before I knew anything about genealogy, my mother and I were looking at some pictures
of my father and my mother said that he looks somewhat like like a Scotsman. I did'nt know what to think about that at that time because of my father having Swedish/Lapp ancestry. But now I think I understand things after learning about the Scottish Troops who volunteered for the Swedish millitary.
Here is the picture of my computer generated 1600's ancestor, he sure looks like a Scotsman to me.

I'll post more about this in the Scottish section.

I may be able to help people who are researching Scandinavian Ancestry, I think I'll add more about that in a Scandinavian Ancestry section of my pages. I can read Some Swedish and other Scandinavian languages. Here is a picture of a 1708 Swedish birth record (baptism) of one of my ancestors, this record is from a time in Sweden when other people like Scots and Germans were mixing in with Swedes. The record also list other people who were present at the time of the Baptism, these other people in baptism records were often close relatives. you can see listed at the bottom of the record towards the right the name of "Monsr. (Monsieur) Nils Rosebergh" The "Monsiuer" title in Sweden back then was given to people who had a position that was above that of farmers. Different countries sometimes use the word "Monsiuer". I think the name "Rosebergh" might have German origins, however the name might also be "Rosebrugh" which then would have a Scottish origin, which I think has something to do with Roxburgh castle in Scotland. This then would be where Scots came into my ancestry. Its hard to say whether the name in this record is "Rosebergh" or "Rosebrugh", because I have seen in this old Swedish handwriting where the letter "e" looked like the letter "r" and the letter "r" look like a "u". I also have heard of a case where a Scot in Sweden took on name of "Rosebergh" Sometimes people took on other surnames in the old days in Sweden, as it was an optional thing. Below the picture of the birth record is a zoomed in picture of the of the Rosebergh/Rosebrugh name on the record.
