What I feel about Kemetic of today

Started by BlackRaven. Last reply by Robert Ray Myers, Jr. Apr 14. 63 Replies

I firmly believe, and I heard this from another member of another group, that Wicca has no business being apart of Kemetic. Kemetic is the religion of Ancient Egypt and the Egyptian people. I…Continue

I've decided to just post my shrine/altar photo here so that you don't have to go looking for it. This my new shrine/altar for my new place. Took me months to finally be able to afford to get the pieces that I wanted.

Don't ever use a lot of white out when your redoing your Witch's Datebook. I went and bought some yesterday to white out a lot of things that I no longer wanted and the stuff gave me a headache. Groan.

Sorry about not being on but I moved to a new state and city. I will be on more often and I hope that all of you had a wonderful year and look forward to the semi-new one.

Have been away from my groups for a while due to having a stroke 5 months ago. Been busy with rehab and I can say I've finally gotten back almost 100%. Looking forward to learning, participating in group and meeting new friends who share my interest in all things Egyptian. Namaste.

I agree, Robert. Did you hear that King Tut came from a certain class of people that are located in Ireland, England, and other places. Hum, might put a connection between the pyramids and Stonehenge. Just a wonderful food for thought. Back to the whole Minkzi thing. I don't know why she thinks that Egypt was a black nation. Now it might of been black with Menes and such but it wasn't black later on down the road, like after the Old Kingdom due to what findings were discovered about King Tut's blood. My theory is that someone from that blood type arrived in Egypt and ruled, or their sons ruled. That's the only way that kind of blood could come into the royal family.

Also we don't have any statues from the first intermediate period, from what I've seen, so there's a very good chance that this happened. To add racism, like you said Robert, is wrong and its not upholding Ma'at.

I didn't delete Minkzi posts and I'm the only one that can. Heck how can I delete someone's posts if I haven't been on here in months. Can someone answer that question for me? I hope that she comes back, I like it when people talk.

An honest, accurate contribution to a topic like this should, I believe, demonstrate some open minded, self aware, responsible study, practice, and shamanic attitude, some reverence and respect for what the elder brethren accomplished from which almost all mankind has benefited.  "The truth will throw down whomever contends with it," said one Egyptian sage.  But, if we want our words to be understood as truth, we need to be careful that our investigation, research, and delivery ring true, rather than as blasphemy against a system that never condoned racism.  One day, Egypt will have to physically occupy all the territory down to the mouths of the Nile, because previously undeveloped regions will be diverting and polluting the water.  And, making a lot of statements about Egypt that reflect a lack of authentic study and analysis are just attempts to muddy the water and co-opt the systems that already have rightful claimants.

Hello again, Hathor Priestess;

My old priest of Set dubbed the late leader of Egypto-Wicca, "Ellen Cannot Read". But, my recommendation is that we try our best to practice exquisite forbearance with Egypto-Wiccans, unless you meet a few who clearly intend some sort of harm. Like Jesus said, "Don't tangle with them: if they are not opposing us, they are helping us." Our task is to become polite experts whose guidance is sought. As Dr. Frankfort and Dr. Morenz said, the Ancient Egyptian Religion can exist on aesthetic statements alone, without any normative doctrine. Afrocentrists are often like Amarnans, with talk about maat but no friendly study or scrupulous observance of it. Egypto-Wiccans and certainly Egypto-Hermetics are usually better educated than the filibustering fatuous false-Falasha fatwa fans who sometimes spam threads like this with goofy racist nonsense. Such materials are more at home on YouTube, and seem to me intended to demoralize serious modern practitioners of an authentic version of Ancient Egyptian Religion. To take on the Ancient Egyptian Religion without serious study of primary source materials is so irresponsible. When you encounter an agenda that is one prejudicial statement after another with an obvious apathy toward academic Egyptology, you realize that it is not to be taken seriously as more than some new incarnation of terrorism with greedy economic objectives. People who couldn't make it as the true Children of Israel or true Children of Christ now want to be the new true Children of the Heretic of Amarna. But, if we practice impeccable courtesy, as any Keeper of Reverence ought, then there will be much less friction and much more inspiration going on among those who should be carefully cooperating rather than fomenting discord. So, I try to avoid any ad-hominem sort of friction and simply continue stating the facts and the truth, honestly and as accurately as I can. Sincere, serious, sustainable interest people will eventually catch the drift of what ought to be happening.
