Hello TheWanderingScarecrow......
My Craft name is Ostara, and i'm a witch of the Nocturnal path of Paganism.Neo-Paganism to be more exact. But,My main deity is Hecate.I work with Her almost all the time when i'm doing my rites. The only times that i don't work with Her is more like on Sabbats,Full Moons, etc. But,i first came contact of Hecate when i first got into the Craft of the Wise.I called Her on the New Moon Rite when i first done my first rite ever in my life.I did the New Moon rite, and than i done a simple spell to get the hang of it,and than i dedicated myself to the Craft of the Wise.Ever since than, which was about over a year ago now,i have called on Crone Hecate. She is very wonderful to work with IMO.I think that She is about my favorite one of all of Them.I've called on other deities too of course, like The Morgan,Hades,Bridget, and i think i called on Nyx at one time. But,Hecate is my most favorite of all.I feel Her prescence every time.Lemme ask you since you are fond of Hecate also,if you don't mind,Do you feel Her connection all the time even if you are not in the circle?I feel Her all of the time.I don't know why. But,what do you see Her as?I mainly see Her as an Old Crone.I've worked more with Hecate than i have anybody else in my path. Thanks for starting this group theWanderingScarecrow. This is very interesting to me since i am connected most with Hecate. She is wonderful.I've got some stories to share with you also about what experiences that i've had with Her but right now i've got to do some things. But i'll share you with them here after while. Thanks again.
Darkest Blessings,

Hello TheWanderingScarecrow,
I'm Karagan and I'm an Alexandrian Witch. I worked with Hecate for a long time and I work with Her upon occasion, depending on the season. For a time on my path I worked with Hecate almost every day on simple rites, offerings or spell work. I feel very much connected with Her and Hades. I like everything Thracian and I have Greek/Phoenician ancestry, so to me every Cosmology that is connected with Destiny, The Norns or the Mysteries of the Underworld fascinate me greatly. To me, to know Hecate is to know your inner Shadows. To not be afraid of your own shadows and walk on them...and this is not an easy thing to do. Hecate is not an easy Goddess to relate to and not a popular one in a serious ritualistic approach. Many people address Her based upon the mysterious and the dark...but Hecate is so much more than that.
"To me, to know Hecate is to know your inner Shadows. To not be afraid of your own shadows and walk on them...and this is not an easy thing to do." You say eloquently how I feel of her as well. Nice to meet you.
I am Sibolas. I have worked with Hekate/Hecate for over 10 years now. My path has led me to her for anumber of reasons, too many to name here, but suffice it to say that I view life and its myriad shadows ab being the great teacher, and I view Hekate/Hecate as being the Lady of illumination....
I have been in the craft over 15 years, and have been trained in both an eclectic and traditional format. I am also a Thelemite and initiate of the Caliphate OTO as well as being a 32nd Degree Freemason.
Hello I am Andrew. When I started studying the craft hers was the first name that jumped out at me. I said to myself that there must be a reason for this. So I started researching her, I found that a lot of the things that I have always like were associated with her. And that night I had a dream. It was the same thing that happens to me when I went in for surgery. I would go up this blue tunnel and at the end there was always a woman standing there but I could never see her face until this dream. When I saw her I asked if she was Hecate and she said yes. I asked if she was the one protecting me through my 17 + surgeries? And she said yes. I have now been following her for 4 years.
Hello all. I am Johnna, and I don't often work with Hecate. I joined this group because my partner (Chris, who started this group) works with her and I am respectful of her, and his workings with her. I do occasionally leave offerings at the crossroads for her, and do participate in Hecate suppers. I also have a black dog, and a snake, so I feel some connection. At present, Artemis is my patroness , so therefore, in the Greek mythology, Artemis and Hecate are both moon Goddess', so I feel that connection as well. Also, as the Goddess of Wicca and Witchcraft, well of course I am connected. I love the Dark mysterious aspects of Hecate, yet am even more so taken with the "earth/ mother Goddess" aspects. Karagan, I am impressed, so few know of Hecate's modern followers know of her Thracian homeland.
Greetings All~ I am Tracy. I have been practicing magick for about 9 years now and I initiated for my first degree about two years ago and initiated for my second degree last year. I ran across information on Hecate shortly after my first spellwork. I instantaneously was drawn to the name and knew exactly how to pronounce her name. I hadn't heard of her as I wasn't really exposed to much Goddess information prior to that point other than Isis. I didn't know until more recently (the past three years) why I was drawn to her. After my first initiation, I researched and decided I wanted to get to know Hecate in more ways. I read everything I could get on her and ran across the same basic information on her over and over again. I kept thinking that there had to be more information on her than what I was finding. When I came across this webpage here in paganspace, I felt like I was getting much of my missing information. The article referred to in the study of Hecate had a lot of things mentioned that clicked with me immediately. There are hard (difficult) lessons she has to teach me. The past year has been an intense year of experiencing Hecate's lessons for me. I wondered why, when I initiated for my first degree, I saw a vision of someone, their eyes were lit as if by the flame of a torch, but from the inside, and the eyes were watching (or rather witnessing, perhaps) my devotion and vows. This past year took me into the depths of her underworld, into a dark place, cut off from nearly all I knew, taking the worldly supports from me. Through it all, I found the strength within myself that was there from the beginning of time and I stood strong within myself and never lost faith in Her.
I learned that what is commonly perceived is not always the truth. I learned this from the 'other' side... not the perceiving side. She was with me as I trudged through these emotional tar pits that slowed me down so that I would look within myself for the strength that I didn't think I had. I had to go to the depths to find that I could remain true to myself even when others couldn't see the truth.
She helped me find faith and validation in myself. She taught me that sometimes I need to look beyond what I 'perceive' to see the truth. Sometimes, to find that truth, we have to have faith in another person AND trust our own intuition. To 'know' things (when we are 'in the dark' of her underworld) we sometimes need to have other aspects of ourselves 'out of the way',' stripped away', 'cut away' (by her dagger) so to say, in order for the torch She carries to illuminate the truth. Hopefully I haven't rambled on... BB~ ~T
Well, it is great to see so many followers of Hecate, or at least those who pay Her respect and work with Her. I found that the day I started working with Her, things started to really go my way. Not including working with the Orisha, She is really a blessing and a wonderful teacher. I agree with some comments about Her being a light of Illumination. She holds the key to the wisdom that resides within. She is the only Deity I work with and the only one I really feel I am connected with.
Hello all. My given name is Victoria. Nice to meet you.
Looking back I say that Hecate came to me when I was about five years old. I was raised in the Nazarene church and it was at five that I knew it would not be my life long path. Karagan expressed how I feel about Hecate very well. I truly came to know her as a teen and though other Gods and Goddesses have come into my life she has always remained in the forefront for me.
She is about finding my way and exploring my depths. She is about transitions and unlocking things inside myself. Hecate as the keeper of teh door between life and death has always resinated with me as well. On Samhain, close to midnight, I walk to the nearest cross road with two apples and share them with her while I open myself up to her energy and just let my mind go where it will. It is the only ritual I do every year at this point in time. Everything else I do are spontaneous little things here and there.
I have wanted to learn more about her from a traditional perspective for a long time but I have mainly found a snippet here and there. Or bright shiny new ideas on what she is. I hope to learn and share a great deal with everyone here. Thank you TheWanderingScarecrow for creating this group for us to join. *Hugs*
Hello, my name is Skott. I came to work with Hecate through my first craft initiation. I worked with the Hecate-Nuit coven for many years. Hecate came to be a very important aspect of my personal spirituality. I have had long discussions with her at various crossroads. I became a Priest to her several years ago and hve been woking along those lines ever since.
Hello, my name is Aelwyndaeira (ale-win-dare-ah), but you can call me Aelwyn for short.
I am a 27 year old Hedgewitch and hard polytheist who was kicked in the head by Hekate about 6 years ago. Like Samantha, I honour Hekate in the traditional Greek sense--not as a Crone, or as part of a generic triple Goddess, but as Hekate Triformis, among Her other attributes.
I first met Hekate on Mabon of 2001, when She presented Herself to me while I was doing a working. This was the most poignant moment in my life. I have followed Her ever since. She is a demanding Mistress in Her teachings, and every lesson is a hard one to learn--but I am all the better for it (spiritually and emotionally---perhaps not physically....LOL).
I have learned a lot about Hekate from various Greek writings (translated, since I'm an language-idiot), as well as Internet resources (you just have to be careful with neo-Pagan writings that don't truly know Her).
I have a shrine to Her in my ritual room, and honour Her feast days. :)
The last part of my name is the Greek "Daeira", a nymph with associations to Her, and whose name means "wisdom" or "knowledge". My former Craft name was Calliope Hellice, "Hellice" being the word for Willow in Greek, and Her sacred tree. I chose Aelwyn as part of my name in honour of my Grammy, whose lineage was Welsh.
It's nice to meet so many children of Hekate here!
