Herbs can be a wonderful thing or they can turn deadly! Understanding their usage and knowing what they can be mixed with is certianly something people should know if and when they decide to use them. Not only can they help in minor problems they can also hinder in fatal ways. Please be responsible and research before you use! Never subsitute herbs over medical advise without first asking your doctor!

Ocean, insomnia can be dealt with by Chamomile and Valerian (a few rosehips would help as well). As for your pregnancy problems, first you would have to get to the bottom of the problem as it could be many things,

Greetings Fellow Herbalists !
I am a Certified Herbalist of 5 years, one day I will return to school and get my Master Herbalist Diploma!

Ben I noticed you made a comment regarding Osha, I posted the properties of Osha to the discussion list. Also there is a video called,
Herbal Preparations and Properties by Debra Nuzzi. In this video it shows the Osha plant and she tells you how to look for the plant and not confuse it with Hemlock. This is a great video for those who wish to learn to make herbal medicinals. I would also like to add, there is a section where she shows her complete medicinal making cabinet, and I do say you do not need to buy the largest bottle of alcohol if finances are stretched! Buy what you need for the herbs that will be processed.

I can't stress enough how antiviral Osha is. I recently went through the Croupy cold. Doctors don't know what this is, but I do know the cough is croup like, body resistance is at an all time low, there is physical pain in the muscles with fever, some people do come down with mucus in their sinus cavity. As soon as I caught this virus 2 weeks ago, I set out to buy the Osha and drank it 3x a day along with Echinacea 2x a day and took the Cold Snap capsules 3x a day including the Horehound syrup (every 3 hours) I made during harvest season last fall. I kicked the virus out of my system in 1 week. My friend had the exact same thing and it took her 2.5 weeks rid of it with pharmaceuticals prescribed by her doctor.

Total cost:
Me-$55.00 for herbs and a big batch of fresh homemade chicken soup with all the fresh veggies and chicken that lasted all week.
Friend- $130.00 for doctor visit and meds and canned chicken soup.

I added the link so you can view the bottle of Cold Snap, I found my bottle at a local health food store.

Incidentally she still has that croupy cough that is lingering on, mine is gone away.

I can't stress enough how valuable Osha is to our well being.

It would all depend on what kind of moss it is as to what its uses are, although using it in a poultice is always useful as it keep the nutrients of the other herbs contained for a longer period of time

I figured that this would be the correct group to consult with about this particular question. Everyone should try to be familiar with the plant and wildlife around them I know, so I was woundering since there is so much of this around where I live is what are the uses both mundane and magickal of moss? Also, has anyone heard of and knows about Osha Root?
