Question, has anyone here ever heard of or made and oil called "witch blood annointing oil?" I was on a hoodoo site and found it. It struck me as interesting, here is whats in it
grapeseed oil
wormwood
valerian
vevrian
adder root
mandrake

I've never heard of a Hoodoo condition oil with this name and it probably doesn't exist for the reasons I give below. What is this stuff supposed to do?
When I looked at Hoodoo Herb and Root Magic I found that these ingredients are all over the place as far as purpose and since these ingredients appear to be put together so haphazardly I'm going to say that this recipe isn't based in traditional Hoodoo. It may have a European basis, but defintely not Hoodoo since the magical uses of herbs and roots is heavily influenced by southern Native American traditions. Added to this is also the folkloric belief in Hoodoo that there is no such thing as "good witch" so no Rootworker would make a formula that would help a witch. There may be one that hurts witches, but I have yet to come across such a thing. Witches are considered evil and destructive; no respectable Rootworker would ever want to be referred to as a "witch" and would be highly insulted by being called one. This is why I never refer to myself as a witch where it concerns my practice of Hoodoo.
I don't know what site you found this oil on, but all told I'm going to say that this isn't an authentic Hoodoo oil.

I'll just point out, not to be picky just in case anyone doesn't know, that by Vevrian you mean Vervain (I know it was just a typo, just sparing anyone the hassle of running out looking for Vevrian to make this). Yes I made it many years ago. Any reason you ask?

Oh, noone says you have to end your relationship with Kali; Santeria does have a power who's very similar, but the spirits dont usually require you to drop everything to serve them (sometimes they do; its very, very rare though) The only real catch is you serve the spirits on their time, and work with other systems at other times. You can have both, just dont try to blend them at once. ;)
