I have been working with Charlotte for 4 years now and wanted to know who else may call upon her services?  Has anyone done any rituals involving Charlotte?  How has she helped you?

I have been working with Vodou.  I am slowly getting into Hoodoo and Santeria.

Interesting this is the second group I have found in regards to Santeria & hoodoo aside from the two I started thinking there weren't any groups on these subjects.

Thanks for the bath already, i do understand about the importance of the cleansing of the head and i have several resources i trust for that . Sounds like a good one,I am appreciative.Easy things to find for a bath make it good.

Greetings to all,

I follow the path of Quimbanda along with many other traditions and am looking forward to incorporating aspects of Voudou along with other Afican diaspora religions into my pratices as I see a common thread among them.

Greetings Everyone,

I've been studying the Brazilian traditions of the Orishas. Looking to learn more from others.

One of the most common spiritual baths that is used for good general cleansing, protection and healing is a white bath. Typically done in honor of Obatala, who owns( read protects) all heads of the non-initiated. Remember the idea is to cool and soothe.....
so milks - goats milk, coconut milk, etc.
white flowers - carnations, mums, daisy's, etc
a little florida water
a white candle
cascarilla
cocoa butter or shea butter - great for the skin!
shower off the grime first. run the bath with nothing hotter than tepid water. pour everything in, light the candle, and pray, meditate on healing, protecting from harm and calming the head (Ori).
Wash from the neck down, not the top of the head. The crown of the head is sacred and a whole other topic. try to drip dry,no scrubbing or aggressive drying, you want to absorb the cooling effects not wipe them off. keep the sessions about 20-30 min max. do this for 8 days in a row.....also best with waxing moon phase.

a year later, ive done more research and know a little more, but my desire for knowledge keeps growing with me. It gets in your blood, i'll say...I was wondering if anyone had good recipes for spiritual baths that can be shared with the laity. Im midly sick and so tired that a spell to heal myself might just drain me further. Just if anyone had time.Reading jambalaya by luisah teish again and its still good. Need to refresh my memory sometimes.
