A Card Carrying Card
By the card sharp don meinshausen

Robert Anton Wilson, author of Illuminatus and a former client of mine once gave me a Pope identification card. The card read in words to this effect “The Bearer of this card is a genuine authorized Pope. He or she is infallible in Faith, Morals and Scriptural interpretation. Please treat him or her right forever. This card gave the bearer to marry, bless and bury people (providing all were in agreement in the matter). Not only that but people were allowed to ex-communicate and re-communicate members but no backsies.
He spread thousands of these cards around as a way of spreading tolerance and good will. With the help of the long-range artillery known as TV, radio and later the intenet he “cannonized” millions and asked others to do likewise. And so the word was spread through the Western World and there is now here more religious peace than ever
Recently the news from the Mideast has been disturbing. Especially in Iraq where religious fanatics kill each other and blow up each other’s mosques in a chaotic abandon that would make an anarchist atheist blush.
Bob (Praise Bob) made a great point with that card. Humor is a long missing ingredient in the spiritual spreading of peace and tolerance. Considering how many popes in history have been engaged in sex and financial scandals, religious and political wars and witch-hunts and other Inquisitions this card inspired others to do better. The Catholic Church once had 4 popes at once. It could be a good idea for everyone to try his or her hand at being pope. They can’t possibly do much worse. Let’s have a free market in popes
So in that spirit, in an Allah compassing sense of open mindedness and compassion I’ve come up with something more ecumenical. It is called the Imam card. In conformity with Islamic teaching there’s no interest incurred by using this card. It can’t be used by banks to get you into debt slavery. Nor can it be used as photo ID. It can be laminated, however.

Suggested wording of the card is as follows:

In the name of Allah, the most wise and merciful. The bearer of this card is omniscient in faith and in interpretation of religious texts. Treat him as a brother even if he is a sister or something else under those robes. Please observe these rules to avoid trouble.

(1) When in an aircraft please use all diligence in avoiding buildings. We’ve had some complaints recently.
(2) It is not wise to display this card in airports especially to government officials. They have little humor and less wisdom.
(3) It is also not wise to share this card with religious fanatics or to attach cartoons of the prophet hereon.
(4) This card may be used to resolve factional disputes, by letting anyone have all the facts they want and to shun all the facts as well. The best way to decide who is right in sects-ual conflicts is to decide that everyone is right.
(5) This card may be used retroactively. It may be used to create the future at any point in the space/ time continuum.

Don, I think that makes you 200 years ahead of the evolutionary curve, yet still a bit of a wierdo!
Hail Dischord, long live the Sex Magicians, may we all climb the 8-circuit Jacob's Ladder, and may you witness it all Right Where You Are Sitting, Now!

I used to do bookings for Robert Anton Wilson and Timothy Leary. Does that count enough for being politically incorrect? Some people give me weird looks for talking about psychedelic religious use going back thousands of years. And I haven't even told you about the response I get from pagans on that issue...

Blah! Political correctness is the bane of common sense and human progression. If the world was ruled by the political correct sheep, the world would be a totalitarian guilt ridden stink hole within the shake of a lambs tail.
