Jacksonville Pagan Pride Alliance's Imbolc gathering yesterday was a success. It was an incredibly beautiful day yesterday - cool in the shade and warm in the sun, white fluffy clouds and a magical breeze. We had approximately 27 people show up, with ages from single digits to grandparents and representing a variety of paths. We had members that had been with us since the beginning and many brand new ones. We ALL met new people and really enjoyed doing so and missed friends who were not able to make it. We had people travel to be with us from the Beaches and as far away as Green Cove Springs and Middleburg!
Lots of lovely coincidences, especially where Tea is concerned. Zee (our High Priestess for Imbolc) used a beautiful ritual that Tea wrote back in 2002, but did not know that Tea was attending - and Tea was the lucky one (chosen by the Goddess I Ching Cards) to bring home Bride's Bed and keep until Ostara.
Our potluck brunch is always a success with everyone intuitively knowing just what to bring. From donuts to pasta salads, it might sound eclectic, but all seemed to fit just right. We planted seeds in ritual (don't forget to nurture them!) and made candles afterwards.
Our next public ritual, Ostara, is in 6 weeks, and we hope to see you there. Remember, our gatherings are for everyone and are a great way to meet other like-minded people in a safe, family setting. You don't have to be a solitary pagan to join, covens are welcome too. In fact, as I mentioned during ritual, a JPPA event is a perfect place to screen new people for possible introduction to a coven in a safe environment without the hassles of a public restaurant, etc.
