Keep a Moon Diary

Pay closer attention to the Moons influence on you by starting a Moon diary. Select a blank book with white paper. Find out what phase the Moon is in, note it down, and write a few words about your experiences and impressions on that day. Feel free to sketch and doodle to honor your inner inspirational Moon muse. Know that as you express yourself, words are sacred to Thoth, the Egyptian lunar god of knowledge and writing. As you keep this lunar diary through the months, you may discover interesting patterns and important spiritual information.

This last book ('Creatures of Forever') actually contained wording that made me think of the first time I was moonbathing!
'I am confused for a moment. My body has begun to glow. The pond shines as well, with the light of the heavens. It is as if the constellations in the sky have been awakened, and been inspired to send down their light to Earth. The white light that fills my body comes from the direction of the pond as well as the sky. ...this stellar current fills me with euphoria. I have experienced it before...'
These words triggered memories and I just had to share.

Comment by Shiro on December 14, 2009 at 8:26am: The dark Moon is a good time to connect with yourself as well as the 'darker deities' such as Hecate.

It is a very good time to ask for increased personal power.

Meditations are optimum at this time.

I invite you to take a good look into yourself and learn new things!

If you don't work with a dark deity then, in my opinion, this last dark moon of the year would be the perfect time to search and possibly find one that you 'click' with.

If none of this resonates with you then might I suggest a moonbathing experience.

Comment by Holly_Fae on December 12, 2009 at 4:52am: An easy way to tell if the moon is waxing or waning is to test what you see against your thumbs. Have your hands out with your palms facing you and your thumb nails showing towards you. Then look at the light pink crescent at the base of your thumb nail. If the crescent of the moon matches the crescent on your right thumb then it is a waxing moon. If the moon crescent is the same as your left thumb then the moon is waning.

(This information applies in the southern hemisphere - it is reversed if in the northern hemisphere).
