Hel (Goddess of the Underworld)
Hel is the daughter of Loki, the evil god and trickster god (though some might not view Loki as evil), and the giantess Angrbooa. When Odin learned of her existence he cast her into the underworld and made it her realm. She receives a portion of the dead. Her face is half alive and half dead, or that half her body is alive but the other half is rotting. No one alive can enter her realm and no one dead can leave it.
She's a terrifying goddess to look at but I don't view her as evil. She just does the job that she's appointed to do.
Photo's of Hel
Video that talks about Hel, which I really liked.

Hello, Everyone, I have a question for all of you. Do you view Hel and Loki as evil? Now I view them as what they are. Loki did cause the death of a god, forgot the name, and he will battle the gods…Continue

Comment by BlackRaven on June 12, 2011 at 6:50pm Hello, everyone, and welcome to my group. I'm so glad that all of you are enjoying it here and making some great discussions that I'm glad that people are taking part in. Someone asked me on the net why I'm connected to Hel and I tell them that it's because I've been connected to death and the Goddess Hel has helped me understand that this is not a bad thing.
I've been meditating on Hel as well as the other Norse gods and goddess. Odin has given me wisdom to follow my path, Thor has given me strength to wear the symbol of my faith, the hammer, and not care what others think, and Hel has helped me understand a little more about myself which has been great.
Thanks for coming and not being creeped out by my choice of deity.
