PaganSpace.net The Social Network for the Occult Community

Just wondered if I have any fellow Nanoers on the site with me. I have done it for five years straight and LOVE it as a method for writing. My first two Nano's are published, the third is awaiting final revision, the fourth is sitting on haitus until I can get back to it, and the fifth is open on my desktop right now as I'm editing. I hope to publish it this summer.

I also highly recommend the book that goes with the NaNo process, No Plot, No Problem by Chris Baty

My novel "Obituary" was just published, and is a product of my first Nano!!! I loved the experience, and was really motivated by it--never in a million years did I expect to get a publishable work out of it, and that was the BEST surprise of all!!

I think it's a fantastic thing to do--for anyone, no matter what sort of writer they are, or what stage they are in, author-wise. It's one of the best ways to break you out of that writer's slump I've ever found. I intend to do it this year, too!

Congrats on your fifth year--I hope someday I'll be up there too!

I'm going to try it. 1,666 words per day; EVERY DAY (panicking a little).

Well, I have tried the November rush. I need a partner to write with. Congratulations on the publications. I am envious. I will be kind and not even ask the usual dumb questions. :) I will try to be good and not offer suggestions for new books. :P

I was actually just thinking about asking if anyone does NaNo myself and then I saw your post! The first time I did NaNo was last year and I was thinking, now why in the world have I not heard of this before?! But I plan on doing it for the second time this year and I absolutely love NaNo! I actually just read No Plot, No Problem a few weeks ago too. (Amazing what the Library has, no? :P)
Maybe this year we can all have a little Pagan write in or something :P

I'm one of the MLs for my area this year. Actually, I found y'all under the groups listing on NaNoWriMo.

I did it last year! Loved the experience! It was fabulous--and my second novel was published out of what I wrote this year. (Obituary: a Novel published through Createspace--available on Amazon.com)

I urge any prospective writers (or experienced ones!) to try this challenge--it's an eye-opening and brain-opening experience you will be grateful for; and for those who have been attempting to finish a novel for years, this is your big chance! :D

Seriously--it's a great experience, with a fantastic on-line community of support. Go for it!!

Christin
