I have been working on a web novel. I have been publishing it in rough draft form. I wanted something more dark but it seems to be going in another direction. I'm not sure if I should keep going to the end or not.

Any thoughts?

I don't know how far you have gotten into this story....so far I am only in Chapter 2, and though it could use some editing and a little tweaking here and there (yes I know this a rough draft)....I think it is an excellent start. I am already hooked. I hope you finish it. It may not be going in the direction that you wanted but this is good....really good.

Okay I made it where you stopped. If you have it in you.....PLEASE KEEP GOING!!!

Well Thank You. I know it will need polishing. You are the first to give me any feedback. Maybe that was all I needed. I will be posting the next page soon. Thanks for your support.

I have written a novel myself.
When we start we generally have an idea of where we want to take it.
However something happens in the writing process and it just leads off and goes where it wants to go. I believe this is exactly as it is meant to be.
Just trust your creative instincts and as you write it will lead you to exactly where you are meant to be.

Just a little word of warning that if you are publishing your rough drafts online you are leaving yourself open to someone else plagiarising your work and if they are quicker than you to get it out there in print, it might be very difficult to prove and I would hate to see that happen to you after all your hard work.
My advice would be to choose maybe one or 2 people you really trust to read as you write if you feel you need the feedback to help you. Perhaps Michelle who has answered your post could be one of those people.
I truly hope you don't mind me mentioning this but I would hate to see all your hard work gone.

I self-published my first novel last year and I didn't let anyone see it until it was finished and then chose two people I really trusted to give me feedback before I went ahead.
I do have excerpts from the novel online now but the book is in the shops and on sale now so its ok. However I am working on the sequel and will not take a chance on putting anything about it on the web until it is finished and I have published it!

Blessings to you and whatever you do, don't give up. Keep on writing!
