Joe,  usually I raise my own chickens, but due to time constraints and money I didnt have a chance.  Wish I had an area nearby I could fish (best I can get is little blue-gill with such a low catch limit that its not even worth catching dinner for a night let alone enough to freeze)

It's really sad how the Gov. can put viruses, and other harmful things in the food that we buy off the shelves at our local grocery.

I'm blessed to live in the area that I do, simply because I'm more able to live off the land unlike most others.

We spend most of our summers dipnetting salmon, go clamming, crabbing, fishing, gardening, kill a moose or two, etc.... we buy very little from the grocery to be subjected to their crap.

There are multiple variations of the flu and the vaccine is designed to fight against what they believe will be the three most common viruses for the season. Sometimes they are right, sometimes they aren't. This is why the H1N1 virus was such a big deal. They weren't expecting that one to become as virulent as it did. The vaccine is also made from dead viruses not live ones. Yes the virus mutates but pretty much all viruses do that. This is also why people should take all of an antibiotic when it is given to them. Antibiotics are for bacterial infections, not viruses, but if you don't complete the antibiotics that is when the bacteria has a chance to "mutate" and develop resistance. This is why we have super bugs now.

Any bacterial or viral disease can change. So are we screwed? Maybe, but that is the nature of some of these diseases and in other cases it is our own fault. Hopefully our own immune systems will eventually be able to adapt to deal with these "Super Bugs".

I have been a nurse for 17 years and I have never been told or read that the flu vaccine makes you a carrier. I looked online just be sure something new had not come out before I wrote this and I haven't been able to find anything. So if you have a source for that info I would love to see it. I have spent a lot of time working around high risk patients during flu season so I really don't think this one is true. No offense, I just don't want to see misinformation being put out there. During flu season hospital staff are given flu shots for free if you want one. We are not restricted in any way from working with our higher risk patients after getting the vaccine.

The youngest you can get the vaccine is six months old and if I remember correctly you can take it while you are pregnant as well. And actually, children receive their first vaccine at birth for Hepatitis B unless you tell them otherwise. Here is a link to a vaccine schedule for children for anyone who is interested.

I don't want to seem like I am pro vaccines because I feel that it is an individual decision. Personally, I had my kids vaccinated for all of the typical childhood stuff. Maybe it's because I'm a nurse and I have a good bit of confidence in modern medicine but that doesn't mean I think it has the answer to everything. I would actually like to see Western medicine be more open to alternative therapies because patients would get much better outcomes. Sorry for this being so long!

Did you know that vaccines are made using OLD virus or disease?  For example, the flu shot (everyone seems to be getting them now) uses LAST years flu strain... so if the strain mutates or changes in ANYWAY you can still get the flu.  So if you get the shot but are exposed to a different strain of the flu than that shot was made from your still going to get THAT strain of the flu.  So if any of these diseases we vaccinate for were to mutate we are screwed anyway. From what I have read, the flu seems to mutate or change in some way every year. Plus the vaccinations also make u a carrier of that disease for up to 2 weeks after vaccination so you can transmit the diease to infants (most dont start their vaccines until they are several months old) anyway.

Jeanine considering most vaccines contain more than just the virus it is suppose to prevent including 2-3x the safe amounts of mercury (for adults in an infants vaccine!) Id rather wait until they were older to make sure

If Vaccines cause brain injury, that would cause children to exhibit temporal lobe dysfunction "autism". How many Docs have these children tested with the proper neurological testing (SPECT or PET Scans) BEFORE diagnosing "autism"? Not many or this wouldn't be an issue. "autism" is not a diagnosis it is a series of symptoms. The diagnosis is Temporal Lobe Epilepsy.

Jeanine they dont know 100% WHAT causes autism.  but even without the threat of autism, the amount of mercury and other 'poisons' in those vaccinations today just isnt worth the risk to me at least.

  I will keep looking :)

jenny mccarthy is one of the people associating vaccines with autism. but autism is caused by neuro. damage to the brain. it doesnt seem like drs are taking a close enough look at the brain. shame

Aisha, I think it was Jenny McCarthy who wrote a few book about the new vacinations and the ill side effects. She even started several groups like what you're asking about, but not on PaganSpace.

Best of luck.
