I chose this topic not because I have ink yet but because I hope to and I know how meaningful tattoos are to most of the people that get them. I have always wanted a place to share this with others. Not to mention that it is not a topic I see often.

The icon for the group was taken from The Witchmen website. It was the first photo I found that felt right. Fell free to send pictures and I will use those instead.

That back piece is the most beautiful pentacle tat I have ever seen! I'll have to show it to my skin artist!

I fell in love with tattoos years ago, but only started getting my own once I got back into college. I currently have three---"World Peace" in Tibetan on my left scapula, the Kanji for "Family" on my left deltoid, and a blue pentacle inside a purple tree-of-life on my left breast. (Yup, I'm left-handed.) I have plans for at least 4 more---time to start on the right side, now. All of my tattoos, both present and future, have deep personal meaning for me. My skin artist, Chris, is a Pagan, and for him, plying his art is a very spiritual exercise. Receiving a tattoo is a spiritual experience for me, too, which is probably why I seem to want more and more of them!

To morgaine: I got my first tattoo last Monday (not pagan but with a deep meaning - my sweetheart's name and mine shaped as an abstract heart) and I was really scared too but then it turned out to hardly hurt at all and now I am thinking about getting a second one, probably a pentagram. Maybe this encourages you a bit.

My tattoo is on my covenspace site under talaverabeads. I got it done January 2007 by Chris Collett at Epic Tattoo in Woodstock, Georgia. I was referred to Epic by a coworker who had some great tattoos. She told me to ask for Mike but I liked Chris's work and we did fine together. It is a real looking snake in an oroubous form. Snake "swallowing" it's tail but looks more like biting it. I don't think tattoos are addictive because I really haven't wanted another after the 1 1/2 hour stint this one took to do. He was great but pain is a big part of the process and I am not skipping towards another one soon by Goddess!
