Greetings to you all, and welcome to Pagans for Spiritual Freedom and Tolerance.
As some of you know from the thread I opened, and closed :>, I have been in contact with a local Mosque, today I am going to meet the Imam, visit the Mosque, see the school and witness paryers.
I have been very excited by the opprotunity to see for myself what Islam is. I am also heartend by the feeling of openness I have gotten from the Imam and the possibility of friendship.
I have come to see, from some of the responses in my thread, and others, that there is a need for understanding and tolerance, not just in the world at large, but within the pagan community. I have come to feel that my visit, hopefully, will be the first of many visits in the spirit of freedom and tolerance of all faiths, not just Pagan and Islam.
I am sickened by the viloence, the hatred and pain that is heaped on the faiths outside of Christianity, and I am also struck by the arrogance of some Christian belivers that denounce the validity of any faith that is not based in the Abrahamic teachings.
I think it is time we stop fearing what we don't understand and begin taking the time to find understanding.

Spirituality is the glove that fits each hand in a different way.  Religion is a prefabricated glove you might find at your local clothing store that always says one size fits all, yet never feels quite right.

Hello to all, I'm sorry that I have'nt been here in a while, a long while my page greetng was still wishing everyone a Merry Yule, How bad is that?

There has been a lot in the news of late, bad behavior on all sides, what I think we need to remember is that there are those who believe too much, the true believer, in all faiths, and the act of one man or group of men does not represent a faith or the people that follow that faith.

Have a wonderful spring everyone, this is the start to my busy season, I may be absent from time to time, but I hope that all of you will continue to share thoughts, articles, and events from your neck of the woods.

Only when we can achieve tolerance and acceptance of all religions will we have true freedom of religion.
