Pagans to Change Political Policy

I would like us to be able to put together a think tank and write a law. I would like to see that the US Presidential and any election is run on the candidates issues and not throw negative innuendos at one another.

Purpose of Group

We as voting Americans, I feel have the right to hear the candidates issues. These must be clear and precise. It is not possible for any of the candidates to be able to state and put before us their methods, issues, policies and remedies without having to divert our attentions to deflect the negative comments being put to us by the opposing candidates. This makes for more confusion as to exactly what their issues and their ideas are. When you are confronted constantly with negative criticism, the main objection gets lost in the shuffle, therefore making we the voting public want to not vote for anyone, but we know that is not possible, or is it? Just exactly what would happen if come voting day, NOBODY showed up!? My personal philosophy is If You Don't Vote, Don't Bitch, but we must be able to have a clear idea of the individual candidates based on their soapbox and not the opposing candidates criticism. I would really like to see a law put before Congress and the Senate making it a crime to deliberately throw dirt in the opponents face, whether this be done by the candidate themselves or anyone on their campaign. For once during my lifetime, I would love to see a Presidential, Senate, Congress or any other campaign run solely based on the efforts, issues and ideas of a single candidate without the trashing of one another.

Greetings Everyone, I have just sent my letter to the White House regarding the law for changing the way political campaigns are run. We can only hope that the actual President will see it and most of all do something about it. We shall see. I might suggest that everyone interested write their letter as well. You can do it by going to http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact

This is a letter which I have written to the NC Congressman Mike McIntyre Serving the 7th District of North Carolina:
Dear Sir,
I come to you this date as I need some advice. I, as a voting member and citizen would like to be able to have clear and precise knowledge of the candidates' issues without all the negative sling-shots at one another, either intentionally or unintentionally. This goes directly for the candidates or anyone that works or volunteers on their staff. I would like to see a Bill put into place, making it a crime to willfully slander the opponents during any type of public election.

We the public have a right to know what the candidates' issues are, where they are coming from, how they intend to try and deal with them and the reasons why they feel the way they do, without having to constantly be defending the accusations by the opponents. This goes whether they are running for the House, Senate, any of the voted-in local positions all the way up and to including the candidates running for election to the highest office as President of the US.

This year was a fine example as to why this needs to be put into law. The Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates could not present their soapbox issues to us properly for having always to defend themselves against accusations and rhetoric put forth by the opponents. It almost made one not want to VOTE for anybody, because their issues were not clear.

I know that most bills that are submitted are not even glanced at, but I am begging you, as a citizen, to please take a look into this and send me your feedback. I plan to get a think-tank together, so that we will be able to write a bill properly to be presented. I know that the first step in a long process is your office, that is why I am writing to you at this time.

Sincerely,
Liz Mason

Check out this website to get the name of your state's Congressman and forward a letter as well. This will be our first step in getting change. It's a long process and I intend to be in it for the long haul.

Hello to everyone! My name is Teresa.I am really interested in politics.Sometimes it gets my blood boiling. Not it so much as people in general. But still everyone has a right to their views, and i respect that.I may not agree but still I keep my mouth shut as best i can.
I was a republican but due to alot odf disillusionment, I turned democratic this year. Its really hard to decide who is honest and who is not when it comes to our nominees. Are they just telling us what they think we want to hear, just to get in office? If so... I say boot their butts. This country is hurting, badly and we need more than empty promices. Ok Ok I am rambling as usual, so Ill be quiet now.I'll definately enjoy seeing what others have to say
