Merry Meet! Welcome to Pagans With a Purpose where we hope bring positive changes in your life and the lives of others. We are a group of Pagans who would like to see positive change and unity among all paths/faiths, among all different races, those of different causes and those of various sexual orientation to feel free to join our family of members here. Discussions on any topics from environmental issues to spiritual and humanitarian issues are welcome here. This is an open forum where everyone's opinions and suggestions are welcome.

So please stop by and sit a spell and share your thoughts on the current goings on in the world. Whether it's politics, Paganism, Animal Rights, anything under the sun is welcome here to discuss.

Chattiness is welcome. As is humor and the ability to share your opinion without being cruel or harassing others. Some discussions may get heated(if we are lucky LOL) however, for the most part, let's try to keep the peace. There is plenty of anger on the discussion boards, no need to bring all that nastiness in here.

Rules are pretty simple....there are none for now unless we feel the need to post some. Hopefully we won't ever need them. We are all adults here, I think we know how to handle ourselves.

Let's have fun and address some serious and not-so-serious issues in a hopefully friendly environment.

Man in the Mirror

When you get all you want and you struggle for self,
and the world makes you king for a day,
then go to the mirror and look at yourself
and see what that man has to say.
For it isn't your mother, your father or wife
whose judgment upon you must pass,
but the man, whose verdict counts most in your life
is the one staring back from the glass.
He's the fellow to please,
never mind all the rest.
For he's with you right to the end,
and you've passed your most difficult test
if the man in the glass is your friend.
You can fool the whole world,
down the highway of years,
and take pats on the back as you pass.
But your final reward will be heartache and tears
if you've cheated the man in the glass.

Comment by Don Meinshausen on March 22, 2009 at 11:19am: As we all should know many pagan traditions and current paths involve the use of psychedelics such as mushrooms, peyote,LSD and MDMA and hemp. Of all the pagans in prison most are in for making these sacraments available or just having personal possession. Strangely there is almost no discussion of this violation of our rights. Many pagan groups and zines shy away even though they have friends who engage in it. There is little abuse of these items in the pagan community and yet many want them banned from gatherings. When homosexuality was outlawed there was no such move. Why the silence? Why the fear? I have been told "Go to where the fear is that is where the power lies"

As many know I had surgery on Nov. 19th which resulted in my entire colon being removed, well with enough left to avoid me having a colostomy bag. Anyway, ended up with internal bleeding, almost didn't make it, then required 8 pints of blood being transfused. After a week I was home, right before the Thanksgiving holiday.

Then a week ago Sunday I was readmitted with pain & a fever, they determined I had an abscess which required a drain tube to be inserted and IV meds. I was discharged last Thursday evening and I believe I may finally be on the road to healing and recovery.

Please continue to send those thoughts & healing energies, I know without all of them, I would not have come this far. And thank you to those that have sent well wishes via emails and cards to my home.

Started new job here in town, yeah...its nice not to awake at 4AM to drive to work! Must count our blessings even the small ones! Lets stay healthy this winter! Get a book, read, search deep down inside for answers or just to reminise, do some writing in journals or BOS!
