I feel a little silly sharing this but I found your group and thought that I would see what your thoughts might be. From the time I was a small child until around age 17 or 18 I experienced sleep paralysis just about every night. Just as I was about to drift off I would hear a buzzing sort of sound and feel a heavy weight on my chest making it very hard to breathe. When I would try to move to relieve the pressure from my chest I found that I was unable to move. All of this was accompanied by a horrible feeling of dread and the feeling that I wasn't alone. It was so scary!

Over time I began to hear other noises besides to buzzing sound. I heard what sounded like voices speaking but I was unable to make out what they said. The very last time it happened I had had a terrible day and I just wanted to go to sleep. For the first time in years when the sensations and sounds started I wasn’t just scared, I was angry as well. The voices were clear to me that night. I heard laughter and a female voice saying “call for mommy” over and over again.

I know this sounds silly but since I couldn’t speak I thought “at” whoever it was that was laughing that I was tired of being afraid and I didn’t care if I never woke up again. I just wanted it to hurry up and get it over with. The laughing and scary feelings stopped and everything felt very sort of still (for lack of a better word) for a minute or two. Then whatever it was seemed to just go away.

I have never had another sleep paralysis experience since (it's been about 14 years now). I asked my mother about it because I thought there might be something wrong with me. She claims that she has also had sleep paralysis experiences and still does though not frequently. My grandmother (my mom’s mom) experienced these episodes as well.

Greetings  Mine was of a boy 10-11 trapped and being crushed from the waist

down, why and how I do not know, then I would see a older mans face in the

curtains looking at me. The three other appartments also had things happen,

people die sometimes very badly and I guess if you finally see them, someone

knows what happened, and they can move on.  I do not know and I really dislike

the inability to move.

LOL  maybe, like in the movie The Knowing your being called.     Pleasant Dreams

What you are sharing is a very typical sleep paralysis experience.

I know that in dreams, when we have a nightmare of someone chasing us, for example, the thing or person chasing us is actually our own enlightened wisdom, and it is trying to impart some valuable information to our conscious awareness, but our conscious awareness is not having any of it, and so we are therefore running away from it.  In dreams, whenever we feel fear, that always translates into our being resistant to something that we should be embracing.

It finally hit me one day that that principle might apply to sleep paralysis experiences too.  I did some divinations about it and discovered that it did.  In other words, even though a sleep paralysis experience seems creepy and scary at the time, it is only because we are resisting some really positive nonphysical entity that is trying to empower us.  We therefore interpret that positive energy as threatening, but in reality it is not.

You even explained this yourself without realizing it.  You say that you were "tired of being afraid."  And so you adopted an attitude of acceptance.  And in getting rid of your resistance to its helpful influence, you got rid of your sleep paralysis experiences.  Your nonphysical entity friend, however, stayed with you and continued to try to help you to empower yourself.

I will do a rune reading for you about this.

Kenaz:  You awaken to something, have an important insight; you shine a light into the darkness; you experience a cleansing, a purification.

Uruz:  Great primal strength, energy, creativity, effectiveness, courage, or potency comes into play.

Sowulo:  You come out on top, emerge victorious, find your way; you successfully tap into your primal identity; the sun shines brightly.

---------------------

Uruz:  Great primal strength, energy, creativity, effectiveness, courage, or potency comes into play.

Laguz:  You succeed by going with the flow, regardless of whether that flow originates within or outside yourself.

Raido:  You make solid progress at something.

------------------------

Kenaz:  You awaken to something, have an important insight; you shine a light into the darkness; ou experience a cleansing, a purificaltion.

Wunjo:  You experience deep, meaningful fulfillment.

Nauthiz:  You succeed by following your deepest passions.

It seems that by asking about your sleep paralysis experiences and learning more about them, an effect of that is that you will be making your life even more receptive to the helpful influence of your entity friend.  The more you can become aware of your deepest passions and go in those directions only, the easier it will be for your entity friend to help you.

Thank you Dreamwalker. That makes sense.
