That is a fairly standard sleep paralysis experience, even though you did not experience anything on your chest making it difficult for you to breathe.

 

In a nutshell, you had an encounter with a nonphysical, otherworldly entity.  In your experience of it, you felt threatened and fearful.  The reason is that our conscious minds has a lot to do with the way we experience and perceive them.  These entities are nonphysical, invisible fields of conscious energy, and so, by definition, they have no visual appearance and they cannot speak or growl or anything else.  We might experience them visually as a demon or an angel, and we might hear them speaking words of loving encouragement to us, or growl at us.  

 

In reality, these entities are all-wise, all-knowing, and all-compassionate.  You have one of these entities attached to you for a number of years to help you in various ways.  If you were open and receptive to the ways this entity is trying to get you to empower yourself and get you in touch with your deepest talents and predispositions, you would experience this entity as being very angelic, warm-hearted, and helpful.  However, you are putting up a lot of resistance to how this entity is trying to help you and empower you, so you experience it as growling at you and so forth.  But whether you experience it as angelic or demonic, it is still the same entity.  The only difference is your receptivity to it.  It is the same nonphysical entity, but the way you perceive it depends on which way your glasses are tinted.

 

If you could will yourself to start being more open and receptive to this invisible ally of yours, you would immediately and forever cease having these kinds of experiences with it.  Instead, you would start interpreting its presence in your life as a more angelic influence.  And the latter would be more in accord with its actual nature.  

 

This entity is also all-powerful, but the extent to which it can help you with its power is limited by your receptivity to it.

 

Now then, there is only one thing that is all-wise, all-knowing, and all-powerful, and that is a deity.  That is what you and your sister have been experiencing in your lives, the presence of a deity.  But you have been ardently resisting its helpful influence in your life, so you experience this deity in a threatening way, a way that is actually the opposite of what it is all about.

 

I will do a cartomancy divination for you about these experiences of yours.

 

Two of Hearts:  Something improves, takes a turn for the better.

Eight of Hearts:  Things coalesce, dovetail together.

Ace of Hearts:  There is union, contact.

Nine of Spades:  You are on the wrong path.

Seven of Hearts:  The sky is the limit; there are no limitations to something.

Three of Hearts:  You break new ground, step beyond previous boundaries.

King of Clubs:  Trust, faithfulness, and reliability come into play.

This divination indicates that you will indeed become more receptive to the way your deity is trying to enable you to empower yourself, and as a result, it succeeds grandly.  Which means that in your daily life, you succeed grandly.  You will not notice anything changing in a big way immediately, but as the months and years go by, you will find yourself becoming evermore in touch with yourself at its very depths.  And as a result, you will be embarking on activities and adventures that will succeed at, and they in turn will spontaneously lead you into more exciting endeavors, and so forth.  The Nine of Spades, however, indicates that with regard to something you are involved with now, it is completely wrong for you.  This is one of the things in your life you will be correcting as you go along.
