Need help with revealing somebody's true nature
I have thought of binding but decided I didn't want to be bound to the person I was trying to bind!! Then, I thought of banishing, but didn't want to take the chance of THAT coming back on me 3fold...so I have ended up with revealing someone's "true nature". This man (he calls himself a "man of God"...PUKE!) has been bringing pain and chaos to my family for 22 years. I will spare you all the horrid details, but to sum it up, he's a BAD man!! My other aunt, who is married to him, has (over the years) become a walking zombie who lacks the will, and desire, to speak up and/or defend herself or anyone else whom he feels had "wronged" him. Now, he has lied (AGAIN!!!) about my other aunt (who just recently overcame cancer) and said she threatened to kill HIM! (I capitalize on HIM because he has ALWAYS been the one who made threats of physical harm and even DEATH to most of my family members!!) They are going to court on the 20th and I'm hoping to come up with a spell that reveals a persons true nature and that would be easily workable for someone who is just starting to work spells. Here is a simple spell to reveal the true colors or the true heart of a person:
Take a rose, preferably a red rose but for this spell, any colour will do in a pinch apart from white which is a different story altogether.
If you have a personal belonging of the person in question (hair, something they wrote, piece of their clothing, a photograph (if a group shot, cut it out so it shows only the person) etc.) tie this to the stem of the rose with red string or yarn.
If you don't, write the person's full name on a piece of paper and tie this to the rose stem instead.
Now light three candles (any color will do, I use yellow, red and white for mind, heart and soul) for the powers that be to assist you.
Take the rose, and start pulling off the petals from the outside in and say:
Reveal yourself
show yourself
your glamours will fail
like these petals now fall
your own true heart
will be revealed
for all to see
naked and raw
so shall it be.
Then as you pluck off the rest of the petals, say on each one:
The truth shall be revealed
When all the petals are off and the rose is "naked", wrap it up in some tissue paper and bind it up with more red string. Put it somewhere safe until the spell has done what it needs to do, then burn it.
Directly after the spell, go outside and scatter the petals to the winds.

First of all, binding someone in no way binds them to you! So just dump that thought where it belongs - the trash!
Secondly, banishing someone doesn't bring that back on you 3-fold. So, do the same with that thought as the first one.
Where'd you get that nonsense?!
Binding someone BINDS TO THAT PERSON THAT WHICH THEY WOULD SEND OUT TO OTHERS. A binding spell prevents them from doing so. It confines their misery to themselves and they get a taste of what they've been dishing out. And with luck, they learn from it. But don't hold your breath on it happening overnight. Learning lessons take time.
Banishing someone removes them from your presence. It moves them in other circles, not yours.
As for the 3-Fold Law look at it this way:
"A better way to understand this is through the concept of "cause and effect". By performing a ritual or spell you are sending out positive energy to affect a situation. When the situation is successfully resolved this automatically makes you feel good and in turn influences your thoughts, which alters your state of consciousness, which stirs your emotions, which has a physical (chemical) effect on the body. The results of all of this lifts your spirit. So with that one positive act, you have been affected in three ways: body, mind, and spirit. This is your three-fold response to the return of positive energy."

The total misconception that LITERALLY "what you send out is what you'll get back 3-fold" is straight up bs. Its the New Age Pagan's (read that as former converted, still-stuck-on-telling-people-what-to-do Christians) version of making rules, laws, and regulations to govern the actions of others. As Pagans we already know and accept the fact that actions have consequences and so govern ourselves accordingly.
Govern your Craft on how YOU feel about things and how you would normally handle a situation. But govern your feelings based on intelligent critical thinking also. If you feel fine, then go with it. If not, then rethink how you want to proceed, but don't just NOT do it because of some "crede" or "law" imposed by others wishing to impart their own ideals on others. By re-wording a spell you can change its application but not its intent.
As for that piece of s*** your talking about - he deserves binding, banishing, a good knot spell and a mirror spell. And everything else you can throw at him. And if you don't feel strong enough for it, then find a companion to help you by adding their energies as well.
