Standing Up For A Better America

First off I want to think everyone that took the time to venture to this group. I started this group after a lot of debate inside my little twisted head, a few months ago I would have never thought about starting a group like this...I was a homebody being in front of the TV...Watching the ball game or texting friends...That was before I became a Pagan/Wiccian...yes I am new. I came to the Land of Enchantment after a divorce and couldn't understand why my life was in such a chaos mess...I could not keep a job...a relationship and my whole life was one failure after another....So in late September of this year I got a job....and in November I got my own place and life was great...or so it seemed...so in early January I was let go government cutbacks....I recently had to move in with my brother because I had no way to afford a apartment I was living in...Oh I tried to get funding and assistance and I was told there was no funding....So I got mad....really mad...Oh I didn't do anything I just sat back and let it go...My whole life I have been in the cleaning industry....let it be a housekeeper or stripping and waxing of tile floors...that is what I done all my life...it took me ten months to get my last job and the normal pay here is 7.50 to 8 dollars an hour...Getting 10 dollars an hour is a miracle and they are far and few in between...So I wanted to do something...so I thought maybe going back to school and finish my computer degree good idea right...at first seemed liked I would be able too...but no I had to pay for all these books and had to come up with extra cash because student loans would not pay for everything and the year prior I guess 18,000 a year is too much to for grants...Oh I will this year after I file taxes made well below that this year. I wanted the American Dream...to have a good job that paid decent...Go to school and finish the degree I have always wanted...I could do neither because I could never find a job that paid decent something I should because of all the experience I have...school was sidetracked so I felt bad and down and wanted all this to go away to live the Dream I have always wanted...

The concept I have came up with is from my twisted head...I have known I was put here for a purpose...not the 8 to 5 job....not the money...the family and being single and having no kids I knew for some reason I didn't feel complete even when I did have a Job and I know there is more to life than coming home parking my lazy butt in front of the Monitor...the Tv....I want to let people know that I am a American, a American who demands a better life like so many others deserve...I love America and I hate to see it fall....I also know there are things we can do let it voice your opinions...get out in the streets and be active and to bring America back to its roots....I Dream of a better America...but I can't do it alone.

Comment by Gwendolynn on March 3, 2009 at 12:45am: Aye Lord Jale I agree that something must be done and I'm no afraid to do what I must to help my country...The biggest obstacle to overcome is Apathy. People have to truly love thier country and want to help it. That means self sacrifice and a lot of folks are too selfish to do that.

Though I am intensly political as a citizen, within this forum and thus this group I prefer to be spiritual within my own path where it interacts with my government. That does not mean to say that I leave politics at the door only that where it relates to my practice, my beliefs and my path, I am committed.

Comment by Fuzzymode on February 14, 2009 at 11:07pm: I am definitely tired of "what's going on" here....I am a social work major @ Humboldt State here in Cali. and have lived the whole of my life as working class, houseless, and nowadays as a starving student. I do lots and lots of hours as part of my training for school doing volunteer....spending the majority of it doing street outreach with houseless folks and mental health advocacy at the local mental health hospital......its very deep and frustrating work but very worthwhile and enriching at the same time. Here's hoping everybody's Saint day was swell! (;o)
