thanks.. i think i'll try that one. It sounds tasty. lol. my only concern is that baking has never been my strong point. Butttt the best thing about practice is eating the mistakes :]

My favorite Yule log cake is chocolate cake (your favorite recipe or from a mix) baked in a sheet pan (10x15 inches). Take a little of the batter and bake a single cupcake as well. Sprinkle the sheet cake with cocoa powder and roll up in a tea towel while hot, as soon as it comes out of the oven, so it will cool into the rolled-up shape. When you're ready to fill and frost, unroll the cake gently and spread filling on it, then roll back up. Stick the cupcake upside down to the top of the cake to make a 'knot' on the log, then frost.

I like to fill it with whipped cream flavored with liqueur of some sort, then frost with chocolate frosting to look like bark.If I'm feeling ambitious I also make meringue mushrooms to decorate so it really looks like a forest scene. Yum! Now you've got me wanting cake LOL

Hello Everyone. I must say that I am just starting out on this path, but being so inspired by my grandmother, and her ability to literally bake love into all of her dishes, I'm really excited to start infusing my energy into my own food. I was wondering if anyone had a good recipe for a yule log.
