And into the Kitchen we go.

I've decided to find kitchen poems and prayers to be a way to welcome people into the group. Most seem to come from a Christian point of view, but I can live with that if you can. ;P

I had some bananas and oranges that needed used immediately. So I made a banana-orange-walnut bread for the grandkids for after school snack.

I substituted squeezed orange juice for the water in recipe.

Added an extra banana.

Added an extra egg.

Plus I put in twice the walnuts it asks for.

With my intentions set and all the ingredients on the counters I began by softening the fresh butter, then added the sugar and juice then eggs. When this was completely mixed I mashed the bananas into it.

The whole time I kept all 5 of my grandkids in my thoughts.

Then I added the salt and baking powder, not the baking soda the recipe called for, and the same amount of powder as soda.

When this was mixed in I added the flour, mixed well.

Then the nuts.

Put it in a large square baking dish instead of a loaf pan so I could cut it into many squares.

Also baked it for less time as it was thinner.

Here is the results! And the kids loved it! In fact today there are only 2 small pieces left!
