Comment by Einherjar on August 8, 2012 at 1:20am I would say with almost complete certainty, that this was not The Morrigan.
I'd say this encounter was probably random.
From your description, you entered yourself into a state of consciousness where you began a shamanic journey (or astral travel, depending on your outlook). Since you did not intend for this, and thus gave no direction, you seem to have connected to a random entity.
It sounds like you encountered someone like the Greek Lamia. Though some accounts say she has a serpent's tail below the waist, not all accounts are thus.
How such a creature will react is really determined by the entity itself, how open it is to random encounters, your state at the time, and if it just doesn't like people.
So, you probably happened across some sort of sea-demon that either doesn't like to be contacted, doesn't like people in general, or thought it'd be fun to mess with you.
Wow, that is quite an experience you had but I am not so sure that the entity you encountered was The Morrigan. Actually from the description, the entity seems rather siren like. She was wet and the tiled white room was blue tinted, also bringing water to mind. Water is the element of emotions. And she whispered into your "other" ear leading to madness. Definitely a trait of a siren or water demon. Perhaps your consuming emotions fed this creature in some way drawing it to you. Just my interpretation for what its worth.
Dragonspring,
I appreciate your response. I will say that I am not at all certain that it was The Morrigan. She is the being I have found to most closely resemble the women. So this is what happened:
I was in my room consumed with feelings of betrayal and rage, obsessing over a situation. I completely internalize powerful emotions in order to maintain my composure, even alone. My mind can go to dark places and staying calmly in one spot, restricted only to the chair reminds me that I am in control. This is something I had done dozens of times before without incident. After about an hour of sitting in my chair it started. A female voice came from nowhere and said "I can hear you". There is no way I can accurately describe how her voice sounded but her tone was unmistakable. She was surprised. It was if she had no expectation or belief that this would or should happen. For a few seconds my body was paralyzed, like it would not accept what my mind was telling it was the truth. Then my eyes shot wide open, but at the moment I was no longer in my room. I was staring at her, in a room full of white tile with a blue hint. She was staring right at me, right through me. She was naked, with pale skin, black hair, and deep sullen eyes, and was completely soaked. Then in an instant I was staring at myself. My other self was completely still, not moving, my face was stern but my eyes were wide open. They looked like my eyes felt. She was next to me, standing parallel and staring at the side of my other's head. She calmly lifted her arm and pulled his head close to her lips and started to whisper. I could not hear what she was whispering to the other me, but when she pulled her tongue was still pushing into his ear. Her tongue was not normal. It was large, cylinder shaped, black with streaks of green. When I looked back at my copy's face it was slowly changing to a silent scream. I could see suffering, terror, helplessness and madness. Then I was ripped back to reality when my head slammed against the edge of the wall and floor on the opposite side of the room. My chair was turned over along with the table at the rooms center. I was shaking uncontrollably, trying to make sense of what happened. Everything that I saw in the expression of my other's face was now within me. I looked at the clock and only a few seconds had gone by. My roommates were home and I was sure they would have heard something, but nothing. I then spent two days straight in my room without leaving, just sitting in my chair trying to make sense of what happened, trying to tame the emotions. I had to find some explanation, some reason to explain what happened beyond the idea that a truly superior being had me at her mercy. I kept going back trying to examine every detail. Even today I can remember what happened in the tiled room like I am watching it again. Who was she? What did she do to me? Why did she do it? What else is out there? What don't I know? This was not the first experience in my life that defies conventional explanation, but it was the only one that involved a separate being. Now this incident is not something that consumes my life, and this is not the first time I have told what happened to others trying to find some understanding, but no one has been able to provide anything meaningful. She is part of a much larger truth of human existence and it is something I am ignorant of and need to explore. I believe having a grasp of what happened is the first step on that path. So there it is, I am a pilgrim lost on a path I never had a map for. If you read through my whole post thank you, and if anyone has guidance or knowledge to share I would be grateful.
The Morrigan can certainly contact people with no occult training. She is a Goddess and can appear at will without being summoned in any way. Actually, I am not sure that summoning Her would be very wise anyway. She should be approached with reverence and a humble attitude in my experience. I do believe that divine beings are in control of their encounters with us. Other beings such as spirits and minor demons may not be.
I am hoping someone can provide some insight. Five years ago I believe I may have made some sort of connection to Morrigan without trying to. I had never even heard of her until last night, but her physical description and demeanor seem to match the women I encountered. Before I go into the details of what happened I am hoping someone can help me understand a few things. First, can people with no training or knowledge about the Occult or Paganism summon other beings or practice magic? Second, are demons/spirits/ect.. always aware or in control of their contact with us? Third, what and/or would these beings do to someone once they made contact? Now this incident and others in my life have proven to me that the general accepted views of modern society are at the very least incomplete. However I am not very knowledgeable of the Occult so if anyone is kind enough to respond please remember that I am a beginner and may ask dumb questions to fully understand your reply. This incident has haunted me to a certain degree and I would very much appreciate any guidance or enlightenment that anyone is willing to provide.

Excellent post. I actually see your words as more of an elaboration than a contradiction. I thought your post was great information for Lady Crow.

some people say their gods came to them or that some gods they chose for themselves...any ideas or advice?
with the Morrigan I am very drawn to so far but the war aspect makes me nervous, I'm not a very big fighter in general unless I have to be, I know I need to learn more though before I make any final conclusions of course

I know that you have voiced many concerns in your post. But, first, I would like to address the nervousness you feel about the warrior / war characteristic of the Morrigan.
Through many lessons, I have come to think of that part of The Morrigan's 'personality' as a defense, rather than an attack type of warrior. Yes, if need be, I can be the attacker. But, in reality (in my experience) there aren't many times that an attack is needed. However, there have been many times when a good defense, that metaphorical sharp sword, is needed. It is then that The Morrigan makes herself known, lends the strength and the fortitude with which I can defend whatever (or whoever) needs it, including myself.
As for your question about having more than one Goddess or God...I believe (and this is just my personal feelings. I encourage you to study and find your own path) that a person is called by one particular Goddess or God and that is their Matron / Patron. This may or may not stay the same for a lifetime. It depends upon the person and what lessons she / he needs to learn. During the time that you are drawn to one particular Deity, there may be times when you need to call upon another because of their individual characteristics for any particular reason.
For example, perhaps you need to call upon Aphrodite for a matter concerning love. Your personal Deity will understand, believe me. And if you wish to keep a shrine to other Deities, for any purpose, if you feel in your heart that it is the right thing to do, then do it.
I come from a monotheistic (christain) back ground so I was presented with the same challenges too, at first. Be patient with yourself. You will get used to it.
Now, after all of this, I would just like to say that I am not the only one with things to say about your post. Find out what others have to say and determine what is right for YOU.
Blesings to you on your Path. May love and light guide your steps.
Comment by Raevyn DreamWalker on July 25, 2012 at 11:32am My mom did the same, long ago, when she found my books and candles, etc., in my closet. After she died, a medium told me that she was okay with who and what I was. :)
