All Beliefs are Welcome Here!

I'm reading a copy of the Necronomicon, and there's a few things I'm curious about. It says the ancient Sumerains refered to the underworld as the Great Underworld Ocean, did they mean that souls drift in a vast ocean, or is it more like the souls are the ocean? Also what's up with these Ancient Ones? Do they have to be summoned? What would happen if they decided to visit you?

The reference to the vast underworld sea is that the souls drift on a nether sea, its not like water but an endless swirling void. The Ancient Ones are the first gods who created to universe. It would be very bad for the Ancients to visit you personally, There level of power would damage you, and scramble your mind. If you must commune with an ancient power use a lesser name to call on.
