Awesome, it is true that the youth today are more community minded than others. I have been involved in the Global Consciousness movement which includes coalescing into a world that honors the earth, each other, and the Deity in all it's forms. I have recently returned form the Coalessence Festival where I got to spend time with Alex Grey, Daniel Pinchback, and Jerry Strongheart and many others.
The move toward this more Aquarian awareness is moving very fast. As the old society and old patterns stop working around us it is incumbent upon us to continue the work and bless that which is doing in a positive way.
I too, worry for our youth today. I believe this is due to our lack of proper Rites of Passage for our youth. The standard, in today's society, is that you become an adult when you get married and have a baby.... perhaps the reason we have such a high divorce rate among folks in their 20's. Youth Rites of Passage is one theme for my practice these days. I always tell my kids....try not to get married or have a baby until you are 30 years old, and know yourself well enough to make the decisions that inspire growth and achievement...
I too, tell everyone that I worl with to Slow down, and encourage a handfasting for a year and a day rather than rushing into anything. I also, make it a practice to ONLY perform this particular ROP after some significant counseling and conversation both with myself and my High Priestess.
Even intraclan individuals are encouraged to remember the spirituality of this particular ROP. Other ROP's that I am involved in include the "normal" milestones, and each year at the Heartland Pagan Festival we have a ROP "walk" that includes 12 Shaman/witches as "stations" that offer a message to the individual based on what the Deities give.
The year and a day commitment, as I understand it is called a Teltown marriage. It lasts for a year and a day. After that, you can get handfasted, and that would last for 7 years. After those 7 years, the individuals could decide to re-handfat, or disconnect. Not everyone grows on a parallel line, ya know.
I hope to make it to Heartland one day....I have heard many good things about it. I am a staunch PSG (Pagan Spirit Gathering) girl as I have only missed one since 2002. I hope we can meet one day to share perspectives....
Good question where to start. I work with students who have Learning Difficulties specifically the Autistic Spectrum and Downs Syndrome. I try to educate people in my village/town to respect these young people. I personally find that they are teaching me something and it is gratifying to see them suceed in everything they do as they have to work a million times harder than students who do not have these problems. My practise is incorporated on a daily level, learning about herbcraft, moon phases, meditation, drumming, using singing bowls, ecology, treating people with respect and many other topics. They are eager to learn and respect Nature and the Godess. It is truly rewarding. Eamane'
Amazing work, Bless you as the manifestation of the Goddess for these children. It is an old adage that Children are our future. What a world you are introducing them to.
Check out some of the Coalessence related sites and see. Stay tuned for some other groups that I am involved with that are taking an active part in the Awareness and what we can do about it!!

how do i live as a warrior?
Well, being the only pagan left in town, as well as the only other Rokkrtru I have met, I have to be strong in holding to my beliefs and being the individual that i am. I have to hold up those things that important to me and fight for those things that are right and just. I train myself every day, even though i cannot train physically due to my knee, I train mentally with games of strategy and learning what i can that may be of use.
in other words, i just live the only way i know how to.
