My Etsy...

I have a brand new Etsy store and a website. My store The Broomstick and Cauldron offers right now wooden BoS's, Spell Kits, and Custom Herb Jars. Soon my store will include Wands, Staffs, BoS Pages, Hand Bound BoS's, and more. Click Here to check out my Etsy Store, and Click Here to check out my website.

I recently had a Jasmine infused Vanilla tea that also has alcohol in it. Does anyone have any recipes for this type of tea. I believe it was called Jasmine Tea. The only reason that I post it here is the simple fact that I know that it has lavender in it as well and I think that the alcohol and the lavender are supposed to sit together for a while before making the actual tea. The really bad thing is that it tastes like sweet tea (my greatest downfall) and it has alcohol. The alcohol tends to kick you in the butt after a couple of glasses. Thanks be to all for the help in finding the recipe.

Blessed Be

I'm working on a new recipe! Elderberry Mead! I know that Elderberries have to be blanched or par-boiled to be edible, but I'm researching to make sure exactly what I need to do (can't be too careful). As soon as I know for a fact that it is safe, I will post it.

How many red hots do you put in it? It really sounds great!

Here is a fast and easy kids hot drink, take apple juice I usually use un-filtered apple juice or apple cider un-filtered also because I'm allergic to the stuff they use to make the apple juice clear believe it or not...put it in a pot on the stove or even a crock pot if you are making it for a lot of people, take red-hot and put them in the juice/cider and stir until melted. It turns a pretty shade of red and taste great, at least my kids say it does...drink hot with a cinn. stick on it if you like.

If you want you can reduce it by boiling until it is reduced by 2/3 or until it is as thick as you want it and then drizzle it over ice cream, bread pudding, apple dumplings what ever you want.

hope you enjoy it! Blessed Be...De

You have to take a hydrometer reading before you add the yeast to get the S.G. (starting gravity) and then another reading before bottleing to get the F.G. (final gravity) to get an accurate alcohol reading. I have a link on here that you can load your readings into to get your alcohol content. It usually takes at least 6 months to a year for mead to clear.

Is there any way to tell the alcohol content of mead with using a hydrometer?
how long does it usually take for mead to clear? TY ahead of time. Blessings.
