Hi to all and welcome to the Trees...........

DRYADS...........
When you are near Trees you are touched by their atmospheres, called 'force fields' or ' Auras' and when you link to a partcular tree, you link with all the trees of that species, their strengths, qualities and ancient knowledge.

Trees breath, move, feel and reproduce and all have individual characteristics.
Every tree has a guardian entity called a ' dryad'. they are seen upon the surface of trees like faces or figures and communicate with us through subtle feelings.
Each Woodland has a head dryad, usually found in the largest or oldest tree near the centre. Guardian dryads protect the woodland edge and can alter the atmosphere felt by humans. If a tree's life is shortened by human activity the realignment of the dryads protective qualities for the wood may take a long time to recover.
Dryads also reflect the elemental qualities of Earth, Air , Fire and water.

On an emotional healing level, trees are excellent councellors and they have an understanding of every human condition.

Comment by Matilda on August 1, 2009 at 3:52pm: Happy to see this group. I am rather a nut for trees. Live in Wisconsin and large, full, beautiful trees dominate the landscape. It has been suggested that if I remove some trees from my front yard, the grass will grow better - they have got to be kidding. I'll take a tree before grass any day. Even my Pagan son suggests I give up on the apple tree in the back yard, I will not give up on it until I am certain it has nothing left (here that Elrond Mithrandir :-D), but it is giving me good fire wood, limb by limb until then. My favorite, by far, has always been the Maple, and I am disappointed that it does not have a more prominent place within Pagan belief systems. It does for me so it stays, despite the centuries of prominence of the Oak. (Which is nice too)

I have an oak in my front yard that I feel an affinity to that can only be described as love. When I wrap my arms around that tree my heart swells. It's an amazing feeling. My favorite trees were all the ones in my grandmother's yard that I climbed as a kid - oak, apple, pine. I sat beneath the weeping willow when it was raining. I loved the way the white birch stood out and could hardly wait till a piece of bark fell off to hold on to.
