First Thoughts by Fionn oMurchu
I'm so glad to be here, I think this is an important step. Bringing religious and spiritual people - all of them - together in a Unity of tolerance, understanding and change is, I think, the next stage in our spiritual evolution. It's that important. So what small part I can play I will.
When I got Starrfire's invitation the Awen came down on me like Angel Falls. I know there are other people and groups of all faiths (or not) who are deeply involved in this very Work, and their influence extends even to the United Nations (no empty boast). We here at PaganSpace can, by our own discrete effort, add to this Work. We aren't alone in this by any means.
That's the macrocosm. The microcosm is this: we are going to have to invest a lot of time, tedious hard work and, yes, money if our humble Unity of Belief 2009 is to be anything more than twenty people in someone's livingroom come Spring next year. And that makes me apprehensive, as my organizational skills involve things more akin to the meticulous ordering of the objects on my altar and the choosing of the most evocative word for a poem. I'm not throwing cold water. I'm only looking (I don't know any of you well yet) for those here who have a whole lot more experience in event coordination and promotion than I have!
These are my first thoughts, not about who-what-where-when-why. About How. That's the first Hazel of Wisdom to crack.
