The ancient Druidic Ogham alphabet lists give us a way of substituting Trees for Birds in Ritual. Each tree also stands for a letter of the Alphabet. The traditional correspondences are as follows:

B = pheasant = Birch

L = duck = Rowan

N = snipe = Ash

F (V) = gull =  Alder

S = hawk = Willow

H = night crow = Hawthorn

D = wren = Oak

T = starling = Holly

C = crane = Hazel

Q = hen = Apple

M = titmouse = Vine or Bramble

G = mute swan = Ivy

Ng = goose = Reed

Z(St) = thrush = Blackthotn

R = rook = Elder

A = lapwing = Pine or Silver Fir

O = cormorant = Furze

U = lark = Heather

E = whistling swan = White Poplar (Aspen)

I = eagle = Yew

So if the recipe calls for an Eagles feather you can substitute a Yew leaf and so on.

Enjoy!!!
