Croeso i Bawb

Hello everyone! A warm welcome to THE place on PaganSpace for Welsh Pagans. I hope we can have some good discussions and those in Wales can even have meet-ups from time to time. Looking forward to getting to know you all, and please, if you are a Welsh speaker, by all means, please post!--just post a rough translation in fairness to those who do not speak Welsh. Diolch yn fawr i chi, Thank you very much.

Hello everyone! *Wonderful* to come and write a bit of Welsh here. I haven't spoken it in years as I live in Finland and to be honest, I can't remember the last time I spoke it. Doesn't matter! Would be great to see more Welsh here :)

Hello Everybody - it is very nice to be here!

Thank you so much, Eadha, for initiating this group for those of us with Welsh blood, and connections through any means.

My great Grandfather was a Welshman with the last name of 'Davies'. I went to Wales about 10 years ago now - a looooong way from Australia but I am so, so glad I went! I have brought back with me beautiful memories that will be in my heart always.

I would like to learn the language but find it very difficult. Also, it helps if one has a friend with whom to practice Cymraeg so that pronunciation becomes as authentic as it can be when not living there and mixing with native-speaking Welsh.

I am currently studying the Mabinogi and gladly take you up on your offer of studying it and finding out the best books to buy as there are many versions in the shops. It is pretty confusing as to which is the best way to go. Any guidance would be much appreciated! Let me know as soon as you get the study group happening and I'll be there with bells on!

I thought I'd just mention that, like others here, am very much interested in Welsh Druidry. Thank you so much for the book recommendation too :-)

Below is a photo of me amongst the Daffodils in very early spring in a park in Llandrindod, Wales. The park was so serene and beautiful with ducks in the pond (2nd photo) and winding paths so that one could meander and get lost in their own world.

The third photo is in a pine forest in Wales closer to the mountains. It was extraordinarily gorgeous to walk amongst the trees trudging in snow more than a foot deep. There was a river running down the valley and either mad or game people were climbing a small but stunning mountain over to the right. The air was crisp and clear, and the vista something I shall never forget. Oh, and I fell in love with the woolly sheep with black faces - how cute!!!
