History. Stories. Facts.

Hello

I've been out of practice for a few years, pretty much just been a basic Wiccan. I've spoken to people, watched group discussions and seen a lot of people say "you'll find your own path," ect. I know my path but what I want to know is if there is a group for people who like to discuss the history, stories, facts of Wicca. Stories behind the Gods and Goddess ect? I'm not into reading those books at Barnes and noble. I'm not into magic. Im into song, praying, living, loving, history (old and new). But no one can seam to give me what I want. Even, if your just an knowledgeable person, I'd love to hear from you. I know there isn't no "true" (I guess proof) of Wicca but there is information about there. Either way, I'd love to hear your storys, songs, prayers, history.

Greetings Caroline! I can understand your frustration on many levels. I don't know if you have checked out all of the grps available (hundreds I think) but I encourage you to see what resonated with you on PS. What I can share with you is my own story. I have been studying metaphysics (a generic term I know) for 30 years. I studied the Wiccan path for a while (and bought up every Barnes and Noble book I could find on the subject lol)but came to the conclusion that the history and information was just too contempoary and over marketed. So I went back to my previous years of studying what really made sense since I'm so eclectic. I resonated more with practicing more earth-based indigenous practices coupled with studying world religions, especially early Christianity and the Middle East (specifically Summerian culture/religion). Like you, I love history both new and old. I aslo found that my beleif's and interests changed as the years went on and my studies increased. I am also Goddess based as opposed to the God/Goddess format.What I found on PS is that I had to use several grps to meet my needs. Perhaps you might have to do the same.
